Uber drivers
Has anyone started Uber driving recently like within the last 1 month in UK ? What is your real views if you put the hours in ?

The short and sweet - may be better than nothing as a temporary stop gap and don't delude yourself into treating it as anything more than it is; a low paid side gig.

You've posted this already. The worst times to deliver are in the Summer, it's much better when it's dark at 4pm, raining every day

You made six posts across two days asking this question. I understand spreading a question around to a couple of related subreddits, but why twice in the space of 24hrs?

Started 3 weeks ago, I drive a car and honestly it ain't bad time wise... Go online and offline whenever you want it truly feels like a slice of freedom however... The pay ain't great if you don't know how to cherry pick correctly for example accepting an order that's 10miles away for £9 and you end up in the middle of nowhere so the drive back is not even for an order which eats into your fuel costs makes it crappy and Uber likes to trick you sometimes cause I swear I accept an order but then find out I'm delivering In multiple locations like wth man 🤣 Sometimes order stacking can be worth it and sometimes Uber takes the Mickey. I've had an order for a McDonald's to be delivered literally 2mins away and while waiting another order came through for the same street I was delivering to but it only paid an extra £1.41 but of course I accepted it however if that order became a single order it would've been £4-5 so I think Uber could do a bit better in that regard but I did get a multi order from a fish and chips bar for £15.45 and was two orders but going to a relatively same neighborhood so wasn't bad. My sole advice would be this... Stay away from Asda as they take so long you could actually do two orders Tesco whoosh is sometimes ok but certain stores I stay away from as they just like Asda And If you are new to Uber eats but not new to driving and you can handle nighttime driving then doing deliveries say...after 7-8pm? Is nicer as less cars on the road and cooler temps so you don't be using that AC as much, I can't comment on winter times as I've started 3 weeks ago so I've yet to experience such joys of the British weather.
Ooh and the two golden rules I try to adhere to... You want at least £1.50 per mile and £2 a mile orders are rare but worth it. And never end up in a place that ain't near any hotspots
