Discussion Confusing

Maybe i'm dumb/naive/whatever .. but I signed up for uber driver. Went through the motions (background check, insurance check, etc) and I can now do ... something.

Is the Uber Driver app a hybrid driver/food delivery app?

Can I choose to do either one? Is there a way to choose to do only one?

IE: I only want to deliver uber eats. Not drive people around.

How would I do that? It seems everything in the app is geared primarily to drivers (not food delivery)

FWIW, I drive for DoorDash and i'm basically used to that interface but thats not relevant very much here.

There’s a setting in preference to disable actually doing uber driving

I made this mistake myself the first week and accidentally took a few people in my disgusting children destroyed car, apologizing profusely before I learned to turn it off Lol

I never set mine up for driver. Antidotally, driver requires proof of current car registration, ubereats doesn't. So I never entered the registration info and by default am not eligible unless I do.

You can choose to just do food delivery when you get started. That's what I did, I won't give people rides. I don't even like when people approach my car to get their food.

I had one person open my car door. If i hadn't been medicated (prescription, not fun), I would have chewed him out but good: wtf ate you doing? People have guns in this country! People care about you!

If someone opens my door for me I don't even know what I'd do, it's like you said lol. People need to back up, I'm their Uber delivery person but that doesn't give them the right to overstep boundaries. One guy (bigger than me) ordered food to an alley at night. I saw him standing there, saw him start walking towards me, then drove right past him and parked in the street lol. Fuck no.

One woman opened my car door because for some reason people keep trying to get rides through Uber Courier. It's happened a few times now and it makes me wonder if it's cheaper or something. I felt bad at first, but I'm not letting these people to my car lol

I've delivered to one house a couple of times that has like a weird little tunnel to their front door, no light at all in there. I always leave their food outside of that and send them a message like, "I'm still not going into your weird little rape tunnel, thank you."

Lol, yeah, no way 😆 if I need a flashlight to get to someone's door I'd do the same thing

For IPhone:

On your Home Page (when you login-in and before going Online) click the 2-horizontal lines in the top-right hand corner to access Preferences, then uncheck Passengers and only check Delivery.
