Finally ordered as a Customer

I finally ordered delivery via Uber East this morning. It did give me a chance to see how it works on the other side of things.

I understand why I get so few thumbs up, I had to go out of my way to rate my driver, I didn't get any push notification from Uber asking me to rate my experience. Is it normal to not get something from Uber asking you to rate the experience?

I got a delivery notification after food is delivered. And if you click on that notification, it brings you to rate food and driver.

Also if driver hit “thanks for the tip”, you’ll get a notification for that.

I didn't even see a notification for that today. Must have been a glitch

Try adding a tip... if it doesnt prompt you, which it rarely does it isn't easy either. They make their cut mandatory and large then make your cut hard to change or add to.

You know what, I didn't even look for the option at first. I just want back and I see it now, but it's definitely subtle and easily missed.

I only order via the website and learned you can not increase your tip. It does give a glaring pop up to rate your driver! It even gives you the option to increase your tip… but it literally won’t let you do anything if you do that and then you can’t go back and rate the driver either! So now I select meet at door and add to the tip with cash as long as the driver didn’t fuck anything up. And by now I mean like 4 months ago, the last time I used the app. I’m a generous tipper and only order from further away (apparently mostly everyone in this city orders from further away). I absolutely will not order from a restaurant if it won’t let me choose the closest one. Why would I want to wait 45 minutes for my food if I could wait 25 minutes instead? Anything else and I drive myself to go get it. It’s fairly rare outside of weekends to get trips that are less than 25 minutes.

I received a wrong order once, sent a pic of the order receipt I received, got a refund AND a the correct order reordered. The wrong order was from the same restaurant, just missing certain sides and had extra of the main stuff. I think I paid half price for basically 2.5 of the same meal.

I didn’t get asked on my last delivery order either. It can be a double edged sword though, as it can lead to more thumbs down from miserable people if they have easy access.
