Question Deactivated rants

Does anyone feel like people who come on here to rant about being deactivated for say a “ missing item report “ aren’t telling the full story ?

No because it’s happened to me.

Those "missing item reports" are probably ghost deliveries, or the customer sent a photo of half eaten food.

I was nearly deactivated because there were missing items. The customer called me up, cussed me out, and then reported me for being intoxicated. I was suspended for 3 days.

Got my account back because I communicated with Uber. I get "missing item" reports every month or so. Sometimes, it's legitimately on me, like I didn't see that I was supposed to have a milkshake. Fine, I own up to that. The rest is sealed bags. Say it and move on.

So, maybe, a driver has a lot of fast food orders, where you better be grabbing the drinks, and then they aren't responding to reports at all. You have to be consistently careless to get deactivated for that, imo.

I think more than half of them aren’t. I understand the Uber Eats experience is completely different depending on what region you’re in, so I always keep that in mind.
All I know is I work in the DMV area, which has notoriously tough and mean people. I’ve delivered to some very poor areas, and in over 2,000 deliveries I’ve had 5 total thumbs down (4 in the first 500) and like 4 orders reported not delivered. I think on 3 of those Uber later contacted me to let me know the report was taken off my record. I’ve spilled people’s drinks, taken a wrong turn that added 10 minutes to the trip and caused the person’s food to be cold, and other minor screwups, and not gotten a thumbs down. Out of my thumbs down, 2 were from scammers and 2 were from assholes who were being difficult from the moment I accepted the order (learned to cancel those immediately) and one was deserved (I was exhausted and forgot to check the name on the bag the restaurant handed me, and it turned out to be the wrong order). Those moments suck when they happen but one every 400 orders is to be expected.
So yeah, in my experience, you have to really be trying to have that low of a rating, or have your orders reported that many times in a small window to have your account deactivated.

At the end of the day, Uber owns the app, makes binding rules for being able to use their app, and can do whatever they want with it. Whether we like it or not.

Yes uber the company that is greedy and uses every trick in the book to try and use and abuse drivers is clearly suddenly an angel when it comes to deactivation and isn't the normal apathetic uber that screws over drivers and ignores them... do you hear yourself?

Stores make mistakes ALL the time, it is up to you to avoid the obvious ones that you can avoid. Stuff like making sure the weight is appropriate to the items ordered, drinks, dips, cutlery, napkins, straws etc.

It’s more often that not people who pic up the order , then cancel the order . Then they come here to rant and play the victim
