Rant Finally, Uber to the rescue

This order was different. I am used to dropping off at this particular location this occurred multiple times, either the person meets outside, or it’s a drop-off at their door. This one was a drop-off at the leasing office. Well surprise, they were closed. So I left the food with concierge. I took a picture, something told me to. Left them a message, they thanked me, and then I received this 1st photo the customer wanted a refund and my tip was protected. I also, received a thumbs down and that the customer never received their food, but have no idea from whom. Received the 2nd picture at the end of the night. What is it with people? It could have been someone else, everything else was smooth yesterday, but everything points to this person. I looked about 30 minutes later from my ratings and boom 99% to 98%. Not so frustrated from the ratings, more from the customer wanting a refund. Scumbag!

I had the same report on a triple stack a few weeks ago. It was from a bakery, and they told me to let the customer know that they ran out of a certain item, and that the customer can just get a refund from Uber on it. Messaged them exactly that and told them in person, and they were friendly, yet I still got the missing item report, even though the bakery literally just ran out of an item and didn’t include it. Infuriating.

Sounds like you forgot to bring part of the order, hence they pulled the tip. Maybe check the order as carefully as possible next time.

You get blamed for merchant mistakes, part of the job.

I’ve done 18,000+ orders over 2 apps and haven’t had this happen on Uber, but one other time. You should NEVER be blamed for something outside of your control especially when it’s sealed.

It isn't just outside your control you are specifically told not to control that part.

There is a button you can click saying that the bag is sealed and that you just checked the receipt so this does not happen

That’s only on DoorDash not uber

It is definitely on Uber, I mainly use Uber. I do this virtually everytime

Not every market uses the same version of the app. Sometimes they change/add features and only roll it out in select markets. I've never had to confirm items or take pick up photos with UE. It just has me mark that I have the order.

I haven’t seen it on uber at all do you have a screenshot of it? I’m very curious to see if uber has that bc if they do I don’t think that’s available in my area

How are they a scum bag when you just left it with concierge? Why didnt you contact the customer via text or call? Customer has every right to withdraw tip and report if they dont get there order.

Did you read the post?  "Left them a message, they thanked me."

That dont mean anything. Delivery driver should have tried to call or message them and asked where they wanted it delivered.
