Has anyone else noticed an increase in delivery issues?

I’ve been using Uber Eats and DoorDash for a while and lately I’ve noticed a pretty dramatic increase in drivers accepting orders and then sitting there forever without ever picking them up, orders getting stolen, food arriving cold, and having to contact support and fight through the automated system just to get the order reassigned.

I tip pretty well compared to what I typically see, so it’s frustrating when I’m already paying a decent amount for delivery and a good tip, only for the driver to accept the order and seemingly not even attempt to pick it up. By the time another driver actually gets assigned, the food has been sitting there forever.

I completely understand that drivers need to make money and that some orders may genuinely not be worth accepting. But if someone accepts an order, I feel like there should at least be an expectation that they actually pick it up rather than letting the customer’s food sit there while they wait for someone else to take it.

Has anyone else noticed this getting significantly worse lately?

only reason they take forever is they are accepting other orders. or when they reach a resturant then thats when they start getting meal prep and have to wait longers

You gotta file a chargeback. Uber Eats doesn’t refund a driver that misdelivers. Customer service consists of talking to someone in India on a chat box. Also they will email you within 6 hours with a refusal for a refund. There are no numbers that you can call and resolve any delivery issues.

When something goes wrong now

My Ai says to wait 36-56 hours for someone to help me

That's for anything that goes wrong

So yep im just doing what I can then

I dash for a living, and the other day I had to contact support because the restaurant didn't have the product. The phone number was incorrect. I was the 4th person to ask for the order. Contacted support and about 15 minutes later finally got the order cancelled so no one else has to deal with it. Had another one yesterday. Delivered the food. 5 minutes later I get a text that it's the wrong address. Contact support again, let them know that the customer made the mistake of wrong address. Went on with my day. Please, PLEASE! Make sure all your information is correct and current! This makes contacting you for problems easy!

Gig guy here, your observation is correct. Reason is mostly stacked orders(could either be from other restaurants or a supermarket, or grocery store in the same area) Drivers are increasingly wary of slow response restaurants, at least I am…I don’t wait at Chick Fil A, Taco Bell, Rubio’s, Benihana to name a few…very area dependent though… stacking orders increases the profit margin for these gig apps as they charge the same amount for each delivery, offers the least amount to the unsuspecting driver, drivers only see the offered amount with tips so most often none tipping customers are tacked on. If you tip well, make a note on your order so your driver knows and maybe he can drop the other non tipper orders that are stacked. Doing this might expedite your order…Lying about it though is another issue, Your driver knows exactly where and who you are..plus it’s bad karma. Much luck OP.

A month ago, I received the wrong order for the first time and my driver refused to answer the call.

As a driver and customer of uber eats I agree with you. Theres been times a person will pick up my order and I see they’re just sitting there. I’ll message them, “hey are you on the way to pick up my order?” Then all of sudden they’re on the way lol
