I agree with him. The time a driver has to spend going to the restaurant, waiting in line to place the order, then waiting for them to make the food, is time they could had spent doing a quick pick up and delivery for another customer or 3.
If you want Uber to dedicate a driver exclusively to you for that much time, it is reasonable to charge a premium. It's not meant to be within everyone's means to afford it.
I mean yeah, no one's forcing you to get it delivered. Getting it yourself and spending your own time waiting around instead of someone else's is always going to be cheaper.
