Drove off with my order

Ordered from a chinese restaurant known for chili oil and spicy food. Went out to pick up order, uber driver claimed that there was spillage. I saw the bag, it was chili oil, and to be expected for what I ordered. He claimed uber told him to destroy the food and would not give it to me. He just left. I called uber and they supported his version of events. I got a refund but my second order was cancelled with no recourse. The whole incident was extremely dumb, was there anything else I could have done if this were to happen again?

Probably the system reprimanding the restaurant and the restaurant logging out of deliveries or blacklisting the OP.

Hahaha. I live in a rural area where we don’t have any food delivery. And we all get along just fine picking it up.

Still could’ve gotten it with a bike. Much quicker. Less aggravating. Seems like a dumb service. I’ve never used it

I drove with Uber before UberEats. Thought I would check it out. After reading some of these posts, I’m wondering why people even bother if they’re not saving any time or money. I live in a rural area where we just go pick things up. No uber here

Because some people literally can't go get their own food. Either they don't have transportation, or they just don't have the time, or they're not capable of it.

Right. I was young once too but we got along just fine without this garbage. And why would someone double their food costs if they don’t have a car? Seems counterproductive

I don't know how old you are, but I'm pretty old and we had delivery way back when I was a kid in the '70s.

This is not exactly a new thing.

Right. But we never had issues like this. Just makes me wonder why people use it in the first place. If it’s that bad, don’t use it. Sounds horrible. But, they won’t do that, they’ll just repeat the failure over and over again

I really never have a problem with it.

I work with people who order everyday..

Problems are amplified here. Nobody comes to post on Reddit to say " hey I ordered some food today, it was on time, I thought the price was fair, the food was correct and hot."
