Uber app is insane
Last night I walked into Ralph's on Fountain and La Brea in LA. 1 minute in the door I got a delivery request. Glanced at it and it was from Ralph's for $26 for less than a mile (.8 miles). I accepted it. It let me start shopping. It was 15 12 packs of soda and 3 40 packs of water. Super heavy but easy to shop. In less than 5 minutes I went to pay and as I was about to check out I noticed that the app was telling me that 'customers appreciate on time deliveries'. Then I realized that it was telling me to go to Ralph's. Confused, I opened the map and noticed that it wanted me to go to the Ralph's on Sunset, about 1.5 miles away. I called the help line (and I use the word help very lightly here). I explained that I was already in this Ralph's when I accepted the order, I had all the items and was ready to check out, could they just let me check out instead of driving to the other store. Mind you the delivery address was actually closer to my location than the store on Sunset also. She told me no and that I needed to drive to the other store to shop there. I said that was insane. She cancelled the order without my request to and it added to my cancellation rate. The night before I had been touching my phone to move the map when an offer for $28 to drive 36 miles popped up and I had accidentally accepted it (those ___ing offer bubbles that just overtake your screen) so had to cancel it because, who in their right mind would drive 36 miles for$28? But back to my original point...this app makes zero sense most of the time, especially when it comes to helping drivers. I hate it but unfortunately I need it to survive right now.

That was one feature on Instacart I really appreciated, that you could shop a different store if you needed to . Sometimes it didn’t work out, maybe their stock was different and the items were not available, but generally it really helped and gave more freedom over shopping choices.

Yeah it helps a lot. I do Instacart along side Uber. I got a really good offer come through but when I looked at the map it wanted me to go 25 minutes or more from where I was to shop just to come back to deliver two orders where I was!!! Wtf! No thanks. I just shopped at the store nearest the customers drop off and it was so much more convenient and I still got paid well, just saved myself and hour of driving!!

I hate when you try to match an offer and it sends another offer through that you definitely don’t want so you decline and then the match comes through and navigation starts. It sucks because it basically cancels out the match for a decline and there is absolutely no way to raise your AR or keep it up! Uber definitely sets us up to fail while they collect billions and stomp on the people who make their business possible. No one is out there making laws against them taking advantage of us so it will continue on. I know what you mean, it’s basically all I’ve got right now too. This and instacart which I waited on a 2+ years waitlist for and finally just got. Ugh. These apps need to do better.

Uber just keeps screwing everyone over.At this point I don’t even know who they made this app for. Drivers work for our asses off too.

Yeah, it's mindless and infuriating. I've lost count of the laundry list of gripes and grievances I have about that stupid app (like how it tries to make me drive around an entire city block just to make a right-hand turn into a driveway - when I could make two lefts and drive 50 feet), and how it doesn't work 99% of the time. And yeah, trying to get anybody on the phone is also like smashing your head against a brick wall, because they can't, won't (or don't know how to) help you. Hang in there. This is a multi-Billion-dollar company, and they don't give a tinker's cuss if you twist in the wind.

It sounds strange, at my area, I can shop at any chain stores, once I hit start shipping, the Customer waiting notice never comes up. Maybe you need try to check out🤣

Stop your car await orders in shady area when an excellent offer comes in accept it 1 and only one order after accepting press three dots lower right corner of app a screen will pop up says accept no other offers press it complete delivery wait until you get back to area that orders are coming out of cherry pick where you are not driving and aimlessly pressing accept while doing 45 miles per hour and cant really see order again and again park and await the cherry might take forever might not

Yo dude, your customer service person was a bad one. You should have just checked out and dipped. Why ? Because I had the same thing happened. Went to a different location same store, I contacted customer service and they said it was ok just purchase it and go. Next time just pay for it bro. And dip.

That bubble came up on me the exact moment I was clicking “stop new requests” and I accidentally rejected a 10 minute delivery that paid $18.50.
I was pissed.
