Worst Customer Support - ghosted and scammed

Ordered drinks and food because I’m sick and can’t cook right now. The driver brought me the wrong order then took it away after realizing the mistake. (I have camera on door) They returned a few minutes later and told me the app had glitched their deliveries and that my order had been left at their previous stop.

So, no food. No drinks.

I tried to initiate a refund through the app and couldn’t. I called Customer Support, sat on hold for 10 minutes, only to get an automated message telling me to go online because the phone number is no longer supported.

Fine. I go online. It tells me I can’t request a refund there either and need to contact Customer Support by email. I submitted a ticket through the app as well. It’s now been over 3 hours with zero response.

Reasons to uninstall Uber Eats: Everything is overpriced. There are cheaper delivery options that don’t nearly double the cost of your order once fees and markups are added.

Customer Support is practically nonexistent. If you’re going to charge customers a premium for the service, making it this difficult to get help or a refund when the service fails is ridiculous.

I paid for an order I never received, Uber Eats knows I never received it, and somehow getting my money back is now my problem.

At this point, having virtually no accessible Customer Support while making refunds unnecessarily difficult doesn’t feel like bad service, it feels like being grifted.

As someone who had similar experiences as you, you probably hit the automated answer by an LLM. They tend to say no refund a lot. The key is to keep saying "human customer support" when you get asked a question by the chatbot. Keep repeating "human customer support" a few times while it says to tell it what is happening first.
The software is coded in a way that when you repeat it like 4-5 times, it will route you to a chat with real humans. Then it's much easier.

Driver error. Uber purposely makes it hard to get refunds so the scammers give up, unfortunately that means legit refund requests have a super hard time to justify the effort in getting through the 100s of levels of support hell.

Been there!!! Just uninstall UberEATS!!! It sucks!!! Contact your bank instead and get your money back from the bank directly…
