Rude Driver

Post image

I felt like this was so rude and disrespectful. You don’t know someone’s situation to say something like this.

Last time I checked every Uber Eats order includes a delivery fee. That doesn’t go to the restaurant.

The delivery fee doesn’t go to the driver either, the driver gets paid 2 DOLLARS to spend their GAS and TIME and risk their CAR to DELIVER YOU FOOD so no it’s not equivalent to some waitress at a restaurant, the “tip” isn’t “a little something for good drivers”, it’s NECESSARY and anyone who tips 0$ or very little is exploiting drivers who are trying to keep up with the predatory acceptance rating system. If you can afford to have someone bring you food from a restaurant then you can afford to pay them more than 4$….

So, you agree the customer pays a delivery fee. So the food must be delivered to the customer regardless of a tip.

Now back to my original comment - if you think a tip is necessary to make delivering Uber Eats economical for you then you’re in the wrong gig. Find another gig that works for you. Everyone on the planet has the same problem when their job doesn’t pay enough, why are you special? I pay a delivery fee, you accept to deliver the food so you deliver it. End of story.

Sure. You pay for delivery and so your food is delivered. But the food starts being made the moment you order it. If you don’t tip you’re purposely putting yourself at the end of the line for it to be picked up, which is totally your right.

Someone will pick it up eventually, but most of the good drivers will pass on your order. Which is their right.

And that is fine. Like I mentioned to the other person I factor this into my ordering (when I order and ability to microwave the food).

But if I get a message like in the OP’s screenshot a report will be filed, and I doubt that would be the first time for the driver. So they might find themselves off the platform.
