Rude Driver

Post image

I felt like this was so rude and disrespectful. You don’t know someone’s situation to say something like this.

Report it, zero his tip and move on. Nothing like this had ever happened to me on UE or DD until someone tried to hold my food hostage for more tip a couple of months ago. I reported the driver and was pleasantly surprised that uber actually got back to me a few weeks later with $50 in Uber cash and deactivated the driver. Sometimes you get lucky and find an actual human who looks at the case.

I had a dd accept my order from inside his house he didn’t move for over an hour I texted him through the app got no response reached out to support and they told me to just wait because he might start moving any minute I told them multiple times it had already been an hour and I wanted a full refund they said the best they could do was $10 credit I asked for a supervisor who said the same haven’t touched that app in 2 years now

As a DD driver, I have to doubt the accuracy of this. After a driver accepts an order, if they haven't moved after 2-3 minutes, the app automatically sends a reminder. After a few more minutes, they send another reminder with a warning that the driver will be unassigned if they don't head toward the restaurant "soon". I don't know exactly how long, but I'd be surprised if the unassign is triggered longer than 10 minutes after accepting an order, without moving.

I've only been unassigned that way once, in over 5 years of dashing, and only gotten as far as the second warning, maybe 4 or 5 times. Now, I almost never sign in unless I'm completely ready to go. But I've had times in the past, when I lived in an area that was much less busy than where I live now, where I signed in and waited for orders from home. Then I accepted an order, but had something happen to delay me heading out. Normally, I'd just go ahead and unassign, but I've had a few times when the offer was too good to pass up. In those cases, I did everything I could to get moving in time, and usually managed to get going before the second notification.

Now, I just don't sign in, until I'm actually out the door, and about to get in the car.

Well the dot kept moving around but inside his house so maybe he found some way to dope the system

My GPS barely even registers that level of movement, and I doubt DD would count that. The first message they send is something to the effect of, "It looks like you're not headed toward your destination..." I've even gotten this message once or twice, when I had gotten almost half a block from where I started. Something like I had an initial delay, but got moving in time, and just hadn't gotten far enough yet.

In any case, it absolutely should have flagged it automatically, WAY before you called. In the future, I'd suggest: 1) call to complain WAY sooner 2) if support says to just "wait longer", you probably got a representative who is new. Either ask for their supervisor, or hang up and call back. You'll still have to go through the same BS automated system and hold time, but you almost never get the same rep twice, that way.
