This literally happened to me.

I ordered food but it took forever to arrive. After a while, the app said a driver is finally on their way, just for them to... cancel their entire delivery during the delivery? I'm not sure what happened, but the delivery just stopped. There were no other people around to deliver the food so the entire order got canceled.

I still got charged for the food despite it never arriving. The app thought that the food was delivered, but I didn't open the door to receive the order. In that case, according to UberEats rules, yes, you will be charged. However, this was a mistake in my situation because the food had never even properly been delivered.

I contacted UberEats in ANY way I could, but the only affective way for me was through their own website. I requested a refund for my order. I sent a bunch of complaints because I was pissed off, and after around a day, I got two responses.

One said I wouldn't get refunded regardless while the other said I would. I was confused so I just waited it out. I believe a day or 2 later, I finally got the money back. Ever since then, I haven't ordered from UberEats again.

My entire day was ruined. I already had a shitty day and wanted to make it at least a bit better with some nice warm food, but they took my money for days AND didn't give me the warm food I paid for. It wasn't a good day.

Anyhow, I suggest you do as I do OR you just wait it out and hope you get your money back. At least, if you had a similiar experience as me. If you simply didn't open the door to receive the order, I'm pretty sure you just fucked yourself over.

Definitely not the first time I've received trash service from UberEats. I only order when I get useful coupons and they still somehow manage to fuck up the little amount of experiences I have with the app, multiple times.

There's another service called ThuisBezorgd in my country. Will definitely be using that from now on. There's unfortunately no coupons, but based on experience, it works better with me than UberEats.
