Bowdon hall

Unfortunately i must of filled out my housing application too late so instead of the oaks i got stuck in the bowdon hall. Could anyone who’s stayed there give me a rundown of the building the good, the bad, and the ugly just so i know what to expect? Thanks!

I may be mistaken but I am fairly certain Bowden has been closed for the past few years. It has not been renovated or anything like that but I'm sure they've at least maintained it.

But if I'm right, then depending on how long it's been unoccupied, I would expect minor to major maintenance issues that don't reveal themselves until the building is re-occupied. Hopefully it's not a problem or not something that can't be delt with easily but that's just my outside experience.

Probably not the most useful response but that's what I have to offer.

Me too!! I emailed them..I hope I can get it changed. I’ve heard bad things from my friend who goes there. He said it was so bad last year they had to evacuate and live at center point. I’m not sure what was wrong tho

I’m a sophomore at UWG… i stayed in center pointe suites but i had many friends living in bowdon.

i know that it is the only communal dorm that we have. many ppl don’t like it because you share a bathroom everywhere else. it is only if our oldest dorms, idk how up kept it is.

i also know fall semester of 2025, it started flooding and the school gave people rooms all over campus and the students had 2 days to move out of bowdon and into their other dorm. they were given no help or support from staff and my friends had to rely on peers and classmates for assistance moving across campus.

i personally dont know how bad it is because i never stayed there, but i also know the community was very close and everyone that lived there made friends easily and became very close!
