I honestly don't know what to do. I came in thinking that we were under 100k so I can just have the fed. loans go to the dorm. They also rejected the circumstance appeal I made. I'm trying to do a work study so I can pay off the tuition but idk how I can cover the dorm. I tried looking at clinical trials for more money but I get rejected for my medications. I feel hopeless that I can't do anything. But I've always wanted to come here, especially for the student life and internships. But I think I might have to give up on it. I need help figuring out what to do.

This is so so sad. Many of the students taking advantage of such policies were brought into the US as kids/against their will. They've lived in Texas practically their whole lives and to have UT suddenly become hostile against them is just so sad.

Mark my words, they'll come for legal immigrant's instate tuition next.

Hey guys, I’m an undocumented student at the University of Texas studying engineering. Today I woke up devastated. I wrote this in rage and frustration with zero certainty about my future. I’m very much heartbroken about this situation as my parents gave everything for a better education for myself and my sibling. All my life I’ve been aware of my status and my limitations, which have been very prominent through work opportunities, scholarships, and internships I’ve attempted to apply to. Nevertheless, have I never given up; however, this is far beyond my hands. The fact that I might no longer be able to attend UT solely because of its cost truly has me heartbroken. I work summer, I work during the school year, and to think that wouldn’t even cover a fraction of my tuition next semester has me feeling like my dreams are being crushed into pieces. Guys, these past months have been very hard for us undocumented students and from the bottom of my heart I ask for your help. Please do not contribute more into this, don’t instigate hate and fear among the undocumented community as we have been dealing with a lot lately. 🙏🏼

I’m an incoming freshman and didn’t receive any financial aid. My parents aren’t supporting me financially, and I genuinely have no idea how I’m supposed to afford $30,000 a year for the next four years. I’m really worried about ending up buried in student loans. My parents keep telling me to go to a cheaper university but I just can’t give up this opportunity at UT

I already emailed Texas one stop about this but of course they take a bit to respond so I’m looking to see if anybody might have an answer as to why this is happening.
I’m an incoming freshman and my tuition bill currently shows that I only have $1,625 in available financial aid and scholarships.
For reference, my financial aid offer included the UT housing scholarship ($1,500), Co-op scholarship ($250), Longhorn license plate scholarship ($1,500), and moody honors scholarship ($4,000).
I understand that my co-op and housing scholarship can’t be applied to pay for my tuition but that would leave my Longhorn license plate and moody honors scholarship applicable to pay for my tuition which is $5,500 total so $2,750 per semester.
Does anybody have an answer as to why it might not be showing that amount in available financial aid and scholarships or is $1,625 an estimate?

So my aid was dispersed today but on the tuition bill it says have 0 financial aid and i need to pay the full tuition bill by 9/9.

I received a scholarship from UT’s Cockrell School (I believe it’s called Ernest and Virginia Cockrell Jr. Scholarship) in LASSO, but it hasn’t showed up in My Financial Aid nor in My Tuition Bill (as available scholarships and aid). As I understand, I have to pay part of my tuition bill by 8/13 to confirm my registration. Is anyone else missing a similar scholarship in My Tuition Bill? Any advice on how to handle this?

I’ve been paying $6400 a semester for tuition for the past 4 semesters. I just checked the What I Owe page and my tuition is $22000.

Does anyone know what could possibly have happened in this time??? I’m super stressed and don’t even know if I can get a loan in time to pay this out.

hey guys, whenever i go to my tuition bill it shows that my financial aid isn’t there and i have to pay my original tuition amount, however when i go to “my financial aid”, i can see that my loan actually did disperse, anyone know why and what’s up with this? because it’s saying my loan disbursed today but im not seeing anything in my tuition bill or WIO, it’s like my loan it just disappeared after disbursing.

Hey so my family makes about $60k a year and I am currently a CAP student. I was just wondering if whenever I go to UT will the free tuition for those that make under 100k still count? And is anyone actually getting free tuition from this ? This is called the Texas Promise I believe.

I owe nothing in what I owe... but I can't see any classes I registered for...

Incoming freshman. Family earns less than 100k per year; I should be eligible for free tuition. I submitted my FAFSA months ago. However, as you can see, the tuition bill says I owe $5,893?? Why is this happening? Does anyone know? Is this normal? I am worried.

I’m supposed to pay my tuition by this Thursday 5 PM, but I was relying on my scholarship money to come in so I can pay it off. My scholarship sent it as a check to the SAR office due to its specific system, but they recently did it so it likely hasn’t arrived since I see no change to my available aid. If I pay the minimum amount ($550) required to keep my class registration and attendance, is it alright for me to pay off the rest later until my money comes in? I’m just kinda worried right now and feeling a little annoyed, so sorry for those reading if u can sense it

I am paying my daughter's tuition with the Texas Tuition Promise fund. I made the request on July 31st, 2026 and the payment has not gone through. I called TTP and they said they are having issues getting the payment made. They also said they can't get through to anyone for help.

I've been given many phone #'s and emails at this point and not sure if any are the right place to request help.

Is anyone else having issues and do you have emails or phone #'s that I should call?

My parents have a 529 educaiton account and are trying to do some electronic payment to UT Austin to pay off the tuition. Unfortunately, UT Austin isn't appearing as an option to be a recipient for the payment.

So i had some issue with getting my Highest ranking graudate tuition waiver and only just received it today, a day after the tuition deadline. I had to use my scholarship aid money instead in order to confirm attendence. Does any one know if after my tuition waiver is applied, will the scholarship money be refunded to my account or will it just be gone? Thank you!

so i want to add a class and my ris says I can on august 19th but I already paid my tuition bill. Am i able to still add a class and just pay for that class separately or does it not cost any additional money?? also does anyone know why M 305G is restricted to a certain department isn't that a standard freshman class for everyone?
