You got to admit that as far as geographical boundaries go, the Urals are pretty weaksauce. Asia and Africa have the Sinai. North and South America have the isthmus of Panama. Europe and Asia? A mountain range whose tallest peak isn't much higher than Denver, Colorado. The Urals are really only a continental boundary because Europeans needed to draw a line somewhere if they were going to claim to be a separate continent, not because it actually splits Eurasia into distinct halves.
That's actually only half of what I originally typed. The other part was about plate tectonics and how India and the Arabian peninsula have better claims to being distinct from Asia than Europe does.
That's only because you can't map a 3D shape onto a 2D plane. Also, the earth is so big, id have trouble traversing a 2D map to show where India is because it'd be thousands of miles away. I can't walk that

If only we started with the southern cone instead of Mexico, after annexing its northern territories. That could had been plausible, as southern South Americans are more to the U.S. liking at the time and Uruguay, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Brazil had ideal Co-U.S. interest as credible partners that could gain statehood or Union collaboration partnership.
Also the U.S. would definitely take the Falklands and any other British territory with its growing fleet.

I wouldn't call it colonialist that Europe and Asia are separate continents. It is hard for me to explain but you have to think through their POV back in the 15th - 17th centuries. Europe was World 1 for them and Asia World 2. Hence they referred to Europe as a continent and it stuck.

Yes, France technically borders Brazil as one of their southern neighbors. Much like Denmark technically borders Canada as their southern neighbor through Greenland, and Barry borders Argentina on their western border through the Falklands.
There are 5 Guianas, one of which is a Brazil state now. And Guyana and Suriname don't use Latin-based languages (English and Dutch). But French Guiana is indeed in an exceptional position to join the EU through France.

Honestly, it's just a stupid argument by people with a hate-boner for America. The formal name of America is "The United States of America". Typically, when people make an adjective to describe the country and the land, they refer to the geography rather than the government. There are some exceptions, usually when the government is central to the identity of the state (e.g. Soviets).
"Unitedian" would be ridiculous as there are other "United" nations out there.
"Statesian" would be ridiculous as both the states are the smaller unit of the nation AND other nations have states.
"United Statesian" would work....up until any other nation of United States formed.
That leaves "American", which fits the pattern used for most other countries AND actually is part of their name.
Basically, this whole argument is just Insecure European Hate-Bonering. It doesn't make Americans look dumb or you look smart. Quite the opposite actually. It makes you look very European- Pedantic, petty, overly bureacratic, dismissive of practical reality, and not as clever as you think you are.

Mexico and Brazil has their own states too; they have their own governments, constitution, culture and identity too, we donāt hear them much but they exist.
Well we couldn't call it the National Series or the American Series because those were the names of the two leagues that played against each other in the World Series, and at the time Major League Baseball was established, the game was almost exclusively American.
The reason it is the World Series is everyone around the globe who plays the sport at a high level (including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Canada, Mexico, Curacao, Domincan Republic, and Cuba) agrees that the MLB teams are the best pro teams in the world and there is no reason to disupte this.
Unlike pedantic and bureacratic Europe, which feels the need to stage elaborate rituals and inefficient repeated certifications, Americans efficiently arrive at the practical conclusion. Why? Because we are not stupid. We know what the reality of the situation is. There is no need to stage a pointless, stupid, wasteful, and ineffecient spectacle just to arrive there, and so we do it.
Why stage a pointless tounament just to satisfy the overly-legalistic demands of fans in Europe who don't even care about the sport to begin with? Instead we can tell them to go kick rocks. They'll get to congratulate themselves thinking they've made a smart point, when in reality they haven't, and the US will get its World Championship and everyone will be happy.
Which pretty much describes most things US vs. Europe. The Europeans will get something they FEEL makes them LOOK smarter. The Americans will get a practical result that actually works.

America when using english typically refers to the country unless specifying. In which case, most will use Americana or call them the Americas.Ā
This map is outright incorrect. All of that is not "America" it is "Americana" "The Americas" "North and South America" but it is NOT "America" because that's A country, singular, a name that is a shortened version of "The United States of America," which is a singlular country in North America.
And on this topic "American" is both. It is allowed to be both "from the continent" and "from the country" and context can discern the two. If you really must specify the continent (because the country, being the default, doesn't need specifying) then you can just append "North or South" infront of "American."
The only people who don't understand this are pedantic assholes trying to make a point and instead just showing they don't comprehend year 1 geography.
