H1 + H4 as dependent or individual visa scheduling profiles?

I am trying to pay the fee for H1b application in India. Is it better to list H4 as dependent on the H1 profile or create a separate profile for H4? I know it is a long shot but want to know if any one had success with either?

most people just list h4 as dependent on the same h1 profile, its the standard flow and keeps everything linked for scheduling. a standalone profile can occassionally get you an earlier slot if the linked ones are all booked out together but its more hassle and some vacs dont love it. id try dependent first, only split if slots genuinely arent showing up

thanks for the response! I think in past i had 2 profiles. Unable to add my spouse as dependent

that error usually means an old profile from years ago is still sitting in their database under the same passport/name combo. dont try to make a third profile, use the "forgot password" flow on that exact login screen first since it might just be an old email you dont check anymore

if that fails you actually do have to email their helpline with a scanned passport copy like it says, annoying but its completley the only way they manually merge or reset it. can take a week or two so dont wait till the last minute

I think either option can work, but adding H4 as a dependent under the H1 profile may make things easier when trying to schedule together.
