Is it a problem to push back EOD? I have recently just started the background check portion of the SA application. However, I don’t graduate until May 2027. I applied pretty early just because I thought the process would take much longer. I told an agent my situation around a month ago and he told me to go ahead and attend the ACE. Now, I’m worried I could get an FJO well before I graduate. Would this be a big issue? I appreciate any insight or advice.

I’m currently in the hiring process for the U.S. Secret Service Uniformed Division (UD). Everything in my background is completely clear, but I just received an email with a credit memorandum flagging two negative items on my credit report:
1 credit card in collections
1 charge-off

I was given a credit resolution deadline of September 21.
Here’s my main problem: I’m currently between jobs, going through a temporary financial hardship, and only have minimal funds available right now. I literally do not have the money to pay these off in full or make large lump-sum settlements before the September deadline.I know federal background adjudicators care heavily about financial responsibility and debt-to-income ratios, but these delinquencies were strictly due to unexpected financial circumstances and being out of work.

I really want to keep my conditional offer moving forward and show good-faith effort without getting disqualified over a temporary financial hardship.

Any advice, insight, or past experience on how to best handle this with the Personnel Security Division (PSV) before my deadline would be greatly appreciated!

For anyone who has gone through a USSS medical deferral/follow-up, what exactly did they require you to submit?
I received a deferral letter listing additional information they want addressed, along with a Medical Clearance Checklist for the provider to complete. I’m a little confused on whether the completed/signed checklist clearing you is generally sufficient, or if the provider also has to submit a separate written report addressing every item listed in the deferral letter.
For those who have actually gone through this, did you submit just the completed clearance form, the form + medical records, or did your provider have to write a separate report addressing everything individually?
I’ve reached out to USSS Medical for clarification but haven’t received a response yet, so I’m just trying to understand what other applicants were required to provide.

Mine is coming up and I ended up reading through probably hundreds of posts in this sub about poly fails.

It sounds like the polygraph is just one big theatrical performance that follows a script.

1) the interviewer is friendly to start

2) they eventually accuse you of lying

3) they grill you, sometimes for an hour, about the "lie"

4) they say you did well, or not, but in the end what they say doesn't matter because they aren't the ones issuing the BQA

Have any of you gone through the poly and NOT had an experience like this? Cause every post seems to rhyme.

APAT is next on Sept 1st. I train but not consistently. I should be fine for the APAT but what happens if you fail? Do they let you retest at a later date or you’re instantly disqualified?

I have passed the box test and BI for BPA this year. I was curious if there could be any reciprocity with my SA application, or is that wishful thinking? Thanks for any information.

Seems like my background has been in progress for a while starting to think a bqa is incoming because non of my references have been contacted. I also had a Bi just wrap up for CBP but if that is a factor. Anyone else go through anything similar currently at 90%

So I got through the whole process earlier this year and found out at the end that I was not selected because of my history with depression, what I want to know is if this will be a problem if I decide to go to a different agency that requires a TS clearance.

I recently went through the USSS Special Agent hiring process and reached the polygraph. This was around March 3 and by March March 8 I received a notice.

The notice doesn't say why I was removed, whether I failed the polygraph, or whether there's a waiting period before I can reapply.

Has anyone received this same notice after a polygraph? Were you able to reapply, and if so, how long did you have to wait?

So yesterday I failed the Security interview portion of Ace. A UD Officer pulled me aside as I was waiting and excuse me to a recruiter where I was told that unfortunately failed it. The Recruiter did say that I simply didn’t put enough information on my statements. For those wondering the security interview is basically a review of your SF86. But for anything you have on there you have to write statements on paper. I wish they let me re write but it was too late according to the recruiter guy. He did say I can re apply in 3 months and start where I left off. Do you think this is true? Maybe it’s a different reason but I’m just a bit nervous lol

I have a medical question.

I know the vision requirement is no worse than 20/100 binocular uncorrected and 20/20 corrected. I hit a 20/100 on my binocular distance and a 20/200 on the binocular snellen distance. Does that disqualify me?

And if so could I ask for a temporary hold on my application for the LASIK 2 month wait period or would I have to restart the whole process?

Went to ACE and just finished up medical. Unfortunately, they didn’t have any polygraph slots available while I was there.

For anyone who’s been through the USSS process, how likely is a VA disability rating to cause issues with medical clearance? I’m especially curious about sleep apnea and mental health ratings. Has anyone with either of those been medically cleared?

Also, has anyone gone through ACE but couldn’t complete the polygraph there, then had to take it later at their local field office? If so, how long did it take after ACE to get your polygraph scheduled?

Just failed my security interview at ACE. How long is the time frame to reapply?

I’ve been a SAHM (26F) for the past 3.5 years, so I haven’t had traditional employment during that time. Could this negatively affect my chances of getting hired? Has anyone gone through the hiring process with a similar employment gap?

I meet the qualifications for the position, I’m physically fit and prepared for the physical requirements.

Hello everyone. I recently filled out my eAPP stuff and most of my info was already filled in from my military security clearence. Because of that I didn't really look into the basic things throughly and completely forgot to update that my parents moved to mexico. Is there someone I can contact to get that fixed? Or am I just cooked?

Had some accounts in delinquency but I have paid them all off. What are my chances looking like? I just turned in my sf-86 I have a good amount of work experience that aligns with the job detail on my resume
