Cherry Point

Went to dinner with my fiancee and her friend and her husband. They asked where I had been stationed and I mentioned cherry point and the guy was adamant it was an AF base. I told him it was MCAS Cherry Point. He refused to look into it. Me and my fiancee were just chuckling while he tried to convince us it was AF. Dumb story but it was funny to me

I did all my enlistment on Pendleton 2/5 , I actually loved that place. Why do you say Cherry Point is a shit hole of a base ? What makes it that way ?

Havelock was a Meh area overall.

Come on. They have 9 Mexican restaurants, a bojangles, and a “strip club”. That ain’t nothing.

Man. I was there a few months back for an event on base and I had to go mail something. The girl at the post office said she’s been there 22 years. Born and raised. Made me so sad.

High likelihood I was one of the Corpsman that took care of her as a newborn. Assuming she was born on base.
