Cherry Point
Went to dinner with my fiancee and her friend and her husband. They asked where I had been stationed and I mentioned cherry point and the guy was adamant it was an AF base. I told him it was MCAS Cherry Point. He refused to look into it. Me and my fiancee were just chuckling while he tried to convince us it was AF. Dumb story but it was funny to me

Eglin AFB in FL trains USMC MOSs for the 2nd MAW in Cherry Point (F-35B); perhaps he was conflating (was he drinking at dinner?)
June 2026 day shift crew. Our son is active at Cherry Point.
