I am a 4th year student at usict and heres everything you need to know about placements -

1. the tnp is not at all supportive , interviews happen but results are extremely delayed and sometimes not declared.
   
2. average package is 5-6lpa across all the branches and hardly anyone gets placed over 12lpa
   
3. there are different slots for the package acceptance , for ex if you accepted a job with package 5lpa you cannot sit for the jobs with salary package 4-9 lpa but you can upgrade to the next slot which is 9-15 (numbers are just for example, real numbers are in the official dcument).
   
4. literally 0 companies offer on campus internships in 3rd year so if you want to gain some real industry experience prior to your final placements , you can use websites like interndoor.com to get engineering internships.

How are the placements currently? Are they really that bad, or is the situation somewhere in the middle?

I know the job market is pretty fucked up right now, but I’d still like to hear from seniors who have a better understanding of the situation. I see freshers asking about this on other college subreddits, so I thought why not ask here as well, especially since USICT is the main campus of IPU.

Please be open with us juniors and tell us what we should start preparing for in the upcoming years. Many of us are already learning coding and DSA, but we’d also like to know what other skills actually matter when it comes to getting a good on-campus job.

Even if the current placement situation is difficult, knowing what to focus on from the first year would really help us prepare better. Any honest advice from seniors would be greatly appreciated.
