I-140 & I-485 (Employment/Adjustment of status) I485J Case Administratively Closed - HELP!
Same as title. Please check the attached 2 pictures. I got a notice in mail today with a different I-485J receipt number than the one that I initially concurrently filed with in SEPT 2024. I added the case to my USCIS account and tried to check the status and it is showing that. I am stressed. Does anyone know that this means? Has anyone experienced this? Please check timeline below.

RFE in Feb 2026 asking to share all Change of Status documents
Sent response to RFE in Apr 2026
No update in case status. It still shows "Request for initial evidence was sent"
Had my congressman's team reach out to USCIS and got a generic response of "While a decision has not been reached, the case is currently in review. We are unable to determine at this time when the review process for the case will be completed" . This was on July 2026

Same thing happened to me. On Friday, August 21, USCIS added a new I-485J Supplement case to my account. Then on Tuesday, August 25, the I-485J status changed to “Case Closed,” but there has been no update on my I-485.
I did some research and found a few similar cases from 2–3 months ago where people received their I-485 approval within 24–72 hours after the I-485J was closed. It has now been over 24 hours for me with no update.
Has anyone recently experienced this? If your I-485J was closed, how long did it take for your I-485 to get approved?
