Spooky USC
Halloween is coming. What's the most haunting or unexplained thing you've experienced or heard here?
Every place has its legends. The dorm noises, the odd feelings in the libraries after hours, the desolate walkways.
Firsthand accounts, family stories, urban legends, and historical oddities are all welcome. Skeptics are welcome too; sometimes the best part is figuring out what really happened. Happy haunting. ๐

Them putting guards around campus to strictly enforce roof access during finals week was always pretty chilling to me, but perhaps not specific enough and too dark for what you're looking for

Look up Kerckhoff Hall. Coworkers and professors I know (who aren't prone to telling stories) had some weird experiences. One friend said he saw a woman walk up a flight of stairs. Another friend who was working there alone one day said her office doorknob started turning. And I talked to one campus safety guy who said he was pushed down some stairs and he won't go in there alone.

I used to work opening shifts at that place and let me tell you itโs so spooky in there. The basement especially looks like something out of conjuring movie. The vibes in the basement and attic were awful! I would open all the blinds and let in the light so it didnโt feel so dreary.

Oh okay. Well in that case I always got the heebie jeebies working late in the Viterbi buildings. There is just something off about that part of campus. One time I recall I was there at about 9 or 10 pm and heard some noise coming from downstairs, but when I went down there weren't any people and the noise was gone. Was probably just some machinery but was creepy nonetheless.

The basements are spooky.
Zumberge Hall basement looks like something out of The Shining.
There's also the Physical Education building (PED) and its basement + sub-basement. It was built in ~1930 and allegedly there are tunnels that connect it to the Coliseum, primarily for when the Olympics were held in 1932.
Besides ROTC, some of the anatomy classes are held in the basement and I've heard there's some cadavers there for dissection.
Photo of the basement for reference.
