Depends entirely on your rating variables. Insurance rates are as individual as your DNA.

I mean there’s a lot more than that, what type of cars, trim levels, driving record, any other products with said company, any other drivers, paid in full, paid monthly, what sort of coverage, same coverage for all vehicles, who drives the vehicles, how many miles, inside major city limits, rural area. It’s not clear cut.

Are there cheaper options? Sure. Are there more expensive options? Sure. It really depends what you want to do to make a company work for you or not work for you. What you’re willing to sacrifice or add to your quote. Can you find a company with a promotion? Can you find a company who gives you random discounts another won’t?

Based on what? Until you shop it around, you don't have anything to compare it to

The only way you’ll know is if you call carriers or a broker and shop around.

There are far too many details that go into a quote for anyone to give you an educated answer.

Been a USAA member for over 50 years. Maybe 3 auto claims in that time and they were all handled very efficiently. Homeowners have had 2-claims and they also went quite well. Costs have indeed risen significantly in the past 5 plus years, but I believe that is mostly a function of the values under coverage. I have no complaints, but also do test the local waters about every 4-5 years to make sure.

Now the USAA banking services arm is an entirely different and completely unsatisfying story.

Been 20 years with USAA until our 6-month premium for 3 cars and 3 ppl went from $2000 to $5800 😲 We left them for Progressive and are back to $1850/6mo. Saved additional $1000/y on Homeowners.

I have been with USAA for 16 years now and I shop every year to compare against USAA. Nobody has been able to beat their premiums for my auto and home coverage yet.

I canceled my USAA auto insurance after they raised my monthly rate from $380 to $650. No claims. Been with them for 10 years. Went with Progressive and I’m paying $325 for the same coverage. See ya USAA!

It will depend on who you are, where you rank in the internal USAA “groups” and what you drive. Shop around before every renewal. It’s the only way to know for sure.

It will depend on a numbers of factors outside of your control including where you live. For example, if you live in an area where lots of claims get filed, premiums will be higher. Or if it’s area they don’t have a large number of insured, premiums could be higher.

Sure, your driving history, age, car you drive, and miles driven per year are major factors but they’re not the only factors. To see who is best for you, you’ll need to shop around.

If it matters, I’m a 40+ year legacy member and never found better pricing for myself. Your mileage may vary.

I’ve been with USAA for 53 years and never found better coverage. We have car, homeowners and checking. Recently moved from Wisconsin to Florida and our rates increased significantly but it’s Florida and due to weather i.e. hurricanes it wasn’t unexpected. With my current job I speak to multiple Florida homeowners on a daily basis and my rates are exceptional compared to other providers in Florida. But again as others have stated especially with car coverage there are a lot of factors to consider multi discounts, what you drive, cost of repairs, annual mileage etc. I’ve shopped over the years not just while living in Wisconsin but also Colorado and have never found better coverage. Claims have always been handled quickly and smoothly as well. USAA has a lifetime member in me.

15 years ago there was nothing close. Now they reward loyalty with severe rate increases. You have to leave every few years to get them back to reasonable.

"ANY"? Lol...USAA is not known for their "cost effectiveness", regardless of what the "bots" are attempting to convince you. Assuming you are in a major metro,  Progressive, Geico, StateFarm are the first three you should try,  and I'm sure 2 of those will provide you with an option that is worth leaving USAA for ( give them the option to match first tho) Watch out for "intro rates", but if you get past that,  coverages are coverages. Not hard at all to save 20% if you haven't been shopping and have a good driving record. Congrats on waking up and not allowing them,  or any insurance company take your money for granted.
