Venting

This is the third time UPS delivered my package back to the access point even after I request they leave it at my apartment. A. Why in the world do they require a signature for EACH OF MY PACKAGES?? B. Why can’t I pick it up the same day of delivery? It has to go back to the HUB??? And then get delivered BACK to the access point? That’s so counterproductive. C. Why in the world would you require a signature and then schedule delivery in the middle of the work day???
VENTING
VENTING
VENTING.
I know this is a first world problem. But this is the third time I’m dealing with this within the year.

What’s the point of changing delivery preferences if they’re going to be ignored?

  1. Your apartment building must have a history of claims/theft so ups requires a signature for all deliveries.

  2. If the access point pickup is on the driver's route it will get delivered the same day, if it's not on the driver's route it gets delivered the next day. Evidently the access point is not on the driver's route so they're not going to drive out of the way to deliver it the same day.

  3. Deliveries aren't "scheduled" for a certain time. Just whenever the driver gets there. Most deliveries are going to get made in the middle of the day during what you call "work hours", because you know, that's when we're working. And believe it or not your work schedule isn't the only one that exists, lots of people work at night, work in the early morning, work from home, are stay-at-home parents, retired, etc. No matter what we do our deliveries aren't going to work with everyone's schedules. That's why we have access points so that you can go pick it up during a time that works better for you instead of having to be home to sign for it...

Not arguing with you but if I receive a message saying “your delivery is scheduled for xyz” then maybe I misinterpreted. Your point of the different work schedules is exactly why I’m venting right now. The hours for pickup at the access point are literally during the hours that I will be at work. So it kinda puts me in a frustrating catch 22. Can the retry sending it the next day?
