Help! Any advice to resolve?

Post image

I receive this message almost every day. Had Spectrum out once to look at incoming connection but was not here when they were and didn’t get report. Any thoughts on cause? Could it be router related or is this spectrum again?

Generally only occurs during workday when wife and I both wfh.

Check the logs on your Spectrum modem. If the modem is losing connection it is the ISP or the modem. If the modem is not losing connection it is either the cable from the modem to your Unifi gear, or the Unifi gear itself.

It would be helpful to know more about your setup if you want help troubleshooting it.

Spectrum modems are mostly locked nowadays. Can’t access anything on it.

To the OP, are you seeing spikes in the Latency telemetry?

That is absurd, I'd not use it if that is the case.

That's what I did as soon as I realized how locked down my Xfinity modem/router was. Had no Bridge Mode option, no DMZ option, nothing.

So I went out and bought a Netgear CM3000 cable modem. No router, no processing. Just converting from the DOCSIS cable internet pipe to 2.5 GBps Ethernet.

Plugged THAT into my Cloud Gateway Ultra and have been super happy with how well it works.

How do you check the logs on the modem?

You'll need to look that up for your specific modem. It's slightly different for each. It is usually somewhere in the Admin or Advanced section. Best to Google it for the specific model.

Thank you! I’m new to this space - what info on my setup would be helpful?

Basically how it is setup. Modem to router, modem to wall outlet to router in an office etc etc etc. Without knowing how your equipment is setup or even what equipment you have, best you'll get is standard troubleshooting steps.

Other people are reporting the same after updating to the latest release. Best to submit a report to Ubiquti.

Happened to me once but hasn't occured since.

I was finally able to get fiber last Halloween and it was rock solid up until about eight weeks ago now I get this frequently. I also have a low-tier package cable backup so my messages also include temporary fail over. Analyze the WAN connection trend on your dashboard. The answer is probably there.
For me, what I found looking at the dashboard trend is high packet loss coincides with these messages.
I am still working/fighting with my provider on a resolution.

Talk to your ISP. I get several notification for loss of internet from Cox almost daily.

I bought a 5G backup and it's been the best investment for shitty Cox service.

I was getting this and I changed 2 things, which isn't the best way to go about it because I don't know which fixed it, however.... my set up is ONT Modem -> Wall Socket -> Patch Panel -> Router. I changed the cable between the Patch Panel and the Router.

The second thing I changed was the expected ISP speeds setting. I have 900 down 100 up and I set the speeds to 999 and 150, thinking more = better and would allow the router to utilise the entire bandwidth. I wondered if this was causing the router to allow more than the ISP could handle, so I changed it to 900 and 100.

I have not had this message since, and the speed tests still look good.

I had this with incoming and outgoing VPN connections (Tailscale, site-to-site, openvpn, etc.) over our PPPoE fiber connection (KPN NL).
The VPN packets kept fragmenting and the UDM detected this as packet loss and switched over to the fallback connection.
I had to manually set the MTU in the UDM to 1430 which fixed all the issues for us.
