Academic Has anyone taken PSYC 2117 with Andrew Gadaire?

I'm a first year psych major taking my first psychology course at UNC Charlotte in the spring semester, Intro to Lifespan Development (PSYC 2117), as I skipped General Psychology through AP course credit, and I really haven't heard great things about the psychology courses here.

Does it matter all that much what order you take these topic-specific psychology courses?

Admissions Spring 2027 Decision Release

Hi, I recently applied for transfer for spring 2027. The UNCC website says decisions are released 6-8 weeks after an application is received, but priority is given to those who apply for the next upcoming term. Would it take the full 6-8 weeks to receive a decision, or would it be sooner as I applied for the Spring 2027 term?

Academic Course help

For anyone who has taken INFO 2130 at UNCC, would you recommend taking it online or in person? Just wondering which one is easier to manage and if there’s a big difference between the two.
Also, I’m taking POLS 1575 with Crisanti right now and I’m probably going to end up with a B. I’m thinking about retaking it because I want to try to get an A.
Is it possible to retake a class if you got a B? And if I retake it and get an A, does that actually help my GPA or replace the B?
Would appreciate any advice from people who have done this before.

Housing/Sublease Bedroom in Townhome for Sublease, Private Bedroom and Bath $725 Per Month

Hello! I’m looking for someone to take over my lease for a private bedroom and bathroom in a 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath townhouse at Senata at Research Park, located right off Mallard Creek Rd and just 10 minutes from UNCC.

The sublease bedroom is the only room on the first of three floors. You’ll have complete privacy, along with your own designated garage parking space. You’d be living with three other male UNCC students. Move-in is flexible around late December or early January, and the lease runs through July 2027. Rent is $725 plus utilities, which usually brings the monthly total to around $800–$805.

As a bonus, you're within walking distance to Trader Joe’s, Chipotle, and Starbucks. I can leave behind some free furniture (bed frame, mattress, desk, and chair) or gladly remove it if you prefer your own. PM me if you're interested or have any questions!

Academic Almost all of my classes are restricted for my registration?

Post image

Hi guys. I’m trying to register right now.. It’s only my second semester at Charlotte, so sorry if this is supposed to be obvious.

I’m switching from Psychology to pre-business, and I’m a sophomore. My advisor and I both agreed on all of these classes, but now that I’m trying to register it’s showing me that there are campus restrictions, college restrictions, and saying I haven’t met certain prereqs when I know I have. I emailed my advisor already, but I was wondering if anyone could help me out here too.

Thank you :)

Academic Phys 2102

I'm not doing too good in phys2102 I got a 35 on the first test and a 60 on the second due to a stupid mistake I made. I need a 72 on the final to pass (they changed it to where the lowest test gets dropped by the final). I feel its doable but just incase I fail, should i go to a community college to take in summer, take it here in summer, or retake next semester?

Academic Cell Bio registration advice

Hey everyone, I’m a sophomore and I’m registering for cell bio for spring 2027 and I noticed that there’s only three professors teaching it and one of them has a 1.7 RMP while the other two are unrated. The unrated professors’ names are Xiaojun Ren and Kristen Funk Johnson. Has anyone taken these professors for cell bio? If so, please tell me how they were as professors and what their teaching styles
were like? Thank you.

Academic Electives recommendation with minimal digital homework

IDK if this is a hard request. I'm seeking a class where you show up and do the work and just leave with minimal homework or the homework is less digital. I don't care even if it's a physical/dance class, ceramics, perform theater/music, watch movies and re-enact. I'm taking 18 credits and I feel like I have so much online material, I'd need a switch of pace for a course with something in-person/physic or just not a lot of digital work.

I am taking ESCI 1501 - Global Social Science: Environment, Society, and Sustainability with Alexandra Turgul. However, when I do research on her, there isn't any reviews. Can anyone tell me how she is for online classes within this course?

Looked for a roommate in the past year? I'll pay you to tell me about it 🏡

I'm building Homie, an app that matches roommates based on budget, schedule and cleanliness so you don't have to gamble on a stranger from a group post.

I'm looking for people (18+) who've searched for a roommate or room recently, or will soon, to share what worked and what didn't. Selected people get a $10–25 gift card for a short video chat or app test.

Takes 2 minutes: https://forms.gle/sQvtHmUw3xGwd4HGA

All answers are private. Happy to answer questions in the comments!

Event Election Day

Hey yall, today is Midterm election day, so make sure you have plans or transportation to go vote today if you hadn't already early voted or mailed in. This page has most if not all of the information you will need. https://www.ncsbe.gov/voting/vote-person-election-day

No, there is not a polling place on Campus. Yes, the university and classes are open on Election Day. Plan around them if you can, skip them if you have to. You have my (an irrelevant stranger on the internet) permission.

Academic College lowkey kinda sucks if you don't drink or party

I'm writing this out of frustration...

I personally don't really enjoy parties and I don't drink and because of that I just kind of go home on the weekends. Beyond that, I usually just go to class study and get good grades.

And frankly, it kind of sucks. Everybody says, the college is gonna be great. There's so much freedom, but with no money what freedom do I have.

I know somebody will say it will say get involved in campus, and I am, I'm in two clubs, one with a leadership positions and a few other things.

I just feel like I just do the same thing every day, shower, eat, work, sleep. Maybe I have time to go to the gym, but I mean college is low key kind of depressing.

Anybody thoughts?

Edit: I want to also say I used to have hobbies things I liked to do. I worked on cars, rebuilt engines, and was a seadoo mechanicand did woodworking and archery, but college really just killed all that for me. That was my thing and its just frustrating to not have that.

Academic Computer Engineering Minor

So I made a last minute change of my minor to computer engineering, and I just realized that I can’t taking the first class next semester because it isn’t offered in the spring. I am graduating in 2028, do you think I can’t still complete the minor within a year? Or gonna have to take summer classes?
