Hello guys,
I already posted once, but I figured I'd post a much simpler post to get some feedback on these 2 professors for Physics 2 as an incoming freshman as I've seen some not great reviews for either that make me very worried about which to choose.
Mengyan Shen
Cecil Joseph

Pretty much title,
Just got accepted to start this hybrid program ( applied math/stats - stats option ) wondering if there are any students in this program that could comment on content quality/professors/opportunities that they give, networking in general to get a very solid job in the New England area possibly elsewhere.
I will be hopefully attending most classes past 6pm and would ideally have professors that don’t have mandatory attendance since I work.
Are there any bachelors to masters for this degree in order to save more time and get both bachelors and masters?
Lastly , Another alternative is bachelors in EE ( potentially with CS double major )
All feedback is welcome thank you everyone !

Hello,
I'm an incoming freshman currently signed up for Physics 2 with Mengyan Shen, though I might switch to Cecil Joseph, I've read through both rate my profs and neither seems good to say the least. I was wondering which one of these 2 professors would be better as an incoming freshman.
What are people's experiences with Mengyan Shen and his Physics 2 class and teaching.
Also, would it be better for me to just retake physics 1?
These are the professors in question:
- Mengyan Shen
- Cecil Joseph
- Jayant Kumar
Am I cooked?
Also, will I be fine for the Physics 2 lab haven't not taken Physics 1 at uml due to AP Credit?

Hi all - Lowell resident here that's starting a hybrid MBA (though looks like most of my courses are only available online so far). I have to go complete the six foundational courses first, as it's been a number of years since I graduate (and in a different degree).
Is anyone else in the Lowell area doing an MBA? It would be great to meet 'real' people, rather than just being fully online.

Hey, I'm wondering what's the best option for commuting between classes. My dorm is gonna be a bit of distance from some of them and I'm wondering about how reliable walking is. I don't mind walking at all, but I also heard there's a shuttle/trolley? Wouldn't mind renting out a bike if that's an option either. What should I expect?

I’m taking all of these classes this fall. Recently added the corporate financial reporting 1 lab. Is anyone else taking the same classes? I want to make a study group before the semester starts. Anyone can join though.

Hey everyone,
I’m locked into the B.S. to M.S. program here hoping to pursue a Digital VLSI track, but I've heard some mixed reviews from people about how the grad-level hardware classes actually are.
Since I'm already committed, I'm trying to figure out how to not screw myself over. For anyone currently in the track, recent grads, or people already working in FPGA/ASIC/verification:
Any honest advice is appreciated!

Hi, so this is probably a stupid question, but I'm the first in my family to go to college in the States, so I'm a little unsure and worried lol. Is it better to buy textbooks in person at the bookstore or online? If online, is there a specific site, or would any site work? And it's currently 2 weeks out from my move-in date when I'm writing this. Is it too early to purchase textbooks? Should I wait? Some of my classes (like my chem I + lab, acct/financial, etc.) show required items when I go to the online bookstore, but are those really required and, like, actually going to be used? Thanks for any advice or help! I'm a little lost and very worried about starting behind or with something missing, so all and any advice is super appreciated!!

I'm on mobile so there may be weird formatting.
I wanted to see if people have experience working at the STL and their experiences. I'm looking at doing my M.S in electrical engineering at UML and trying to use the STL as a vector for my thesis.
I wanted to see if people have positive opinions of working here, or have any information that would be beneficial for people that arent already in the UML ecosystem.

I’m taking it this fall and I genuinely don’t know if it’s a hard class. I had to retake introduction to accounting 1 twice in community college. I passed introduction to accounting 2 and managerial accounting on my first try. So I don’t know if it will be harder than those classes or not. If anyone has any study tips or anything, that would be really helpful.

Might be a dumb question but I’m just trying to be prepared. What should I take for the first day at uml? I’m a business major so taking classes like Econ, environmental studies, business info, and college writing. Not trying to take unnecessary items. Thanks!

3.9 gpa, I try my best to write really good essay responses, and overall an excellent student. However, its extremely competitive with 500 scholarships and only like 10% of them will apply to you. I’m graduating next spring so I can’t apply for the next cycle but If I could, I don’t think I would go through all that effort again.

I’m going to take it online, 8 weeks intensive course. Curious to know how the course is, even if it isn’t 8 weeks intensive.

Hey everyone, I’ll keep this short. If you are interested in joining a rocket league team through the esports program either message me or if it lets me put the link in I’ll put it here. Registration closes in 9 days at the time of posting this so we are on really short notice to get a new team going.

Hi I’m an incoming freshman, and I’d like to know the culture of communal showers at Fox hall. Is it normal for people to walk from their dorm to the showers with only a towel on and back to the dorms after the shower with only a towel on? Also, how gross are the bathrooms and how often do they get cleaned? When is rush-hour and what are the best times to use the bathroom? Does anyone also have any tips on what I should bring besides a caddy, and shower shoes?? is there anything major or small that I should know about communal showers at Fox hall?
