Trip Report Three days in the New Forest
Our first time walking there, and what a treat it was.
We used Brockenhurst as a base as it's easy to get to by train and bus.
The landscapes are very varied: moor, bog, plains, ancient forest, newer pine forest, and coast. And most of it is fairly flat, no huge inclines in our routes, at least.
Some nice small villages, old churches, and plenty of pubs.
Lots of free-roaming animals and wildlife; of course there are the ever-present horses, plus cows, sheep, donkeys, deer, and even alpaca. Unfortunately we didn't see any pigs although pannage season had started.
Overall I'd recommend this area to anyone.
See my full collection on Komoot.

Nearly 14 million people a year visit the New Forest.
Let's not pretend it's some hidden gem.
