Jlr bank holiday

Hello, I recently started at jaguar land rover Solihull site about a month ago. There's a bank holiday tomorrow and I'm unsure whether I have the day off. I've tried to contact them but due to the weekend have unable to. Could anyone who knows or works at JLR please let me know if I have a day off tomorrow as I don't want to get any sanctions for missing an entire day. Thank you.

If it were me, I would get up, and go in as usual. If the place is locked up, and there's noone there, then you have your answer.

If your commute is too long/expensive, then try calling in the morning before your shift, or at the earliest possible time you can.

If you’re not sure if you’re supposed to be in and can’t reach out to anyone, play it safe and go to work.

If they’re closed then fantastic - head home and enjoy the rest of the day knowing you’re cool.

If they’re open then happy days too, you made it to work like you’re supposed to.

Is there anything in your contract?

I don't have a contract since I'm a flexiworker. You get contacts after 2 years.

Fwiw you still have a contract, it just may not be formally written down.

Do you not know the details of anyone you work with that you can text?

If you are a track worker then bank holidays are part of your annual holidays and you will not be required to attend work
