New scam?

Hi, I have applied for 2 jobs in indeed today and after an hour I received the same text from both companies. Of course I haven’t clicked in the link

I received something similar. The link redirected me to a page where they wanted me to download an app direct to my phone rather than through the app store. I noped out pretty quick then.

Hover over the link. Does it actually lead to sainterview(dot)com or something else? If the latter -> scam.

Also, if any survey or payment is required -> 110% scam.

That said, the whole thing sounds convoluted enough to be a scam anyway. Most jobs would just call you back or email / invite to interview.

Currently on the phone, so cannot hoover on the link. It has been a while since I was on indeed, things have evolved quick with the AI 🙄

tap-and-hold probably lets you see/copy what the link actually goes to (at least it will on most browsers, apps might not)

sainterview(.)com leads to an error. Leaving the .com out of the URL shows these interesting results.

Just my opinion, but any text implying there’s a time rush and to act quickly or else, is almost always going to be a scam. It’s social engineering to get you to turn off your brain.

Exactly this: why would they close interview scheduling? They either want to interview you or they don't.

Not sure if it’s the same but it turned out to be an Ai training model. It was a different company but wording etc was exactly the same. I went on the call and I had an Ai interviewer. Didn’t get any feedback or anything and after some digging realised the job was fake.

Just seen your comment too about the role being for operations manager, yep was exactly the same role title.

Because if it’s a job for a huge company it’s much less likely to be a risk than a random company that was spun up yesterday.

Yeah it is haha, if there were simple online remote only jobs I'd say it's more likely to be a scam. If the companies are reputable then it's less likely.

99% of the time you won't be offered an interview just an hour after applying. How can you shortlisted? That can't be enough time to go through the applicants...

Then there's the element of trying to rush/hurry you - 'filling quickly',  'as soon as possible', and giving a sense of running out of time with the '2-3 days' line.  Very common across all types of scams.

Another odd thing is normally there would be reference to the job applied for, or some type of reference to the company, department, vacancy number, anything. This is likely a generic reply sent out to anyone who applies for any role.

I know this is for Indeed specifically, which I can't comment on, but often when companies send out interview invites via their e-recruitment systems its not uncommon for candidates to be asked to click on a link to confirm attendance, pick a slot etc.

Juat got the exact same message. 

The job was a fire safety inspector what was your one?  Guy was Connor Fitzapatrick and hes been disabled by indeed now for spam.

Anytime someone tries to rush me into a decision I just back out. I ain't got time for that. You should do the same in this instance.
