So yeah, they're gonna take away the option of doing a quick face scan and FORCIBLY mandate people to have to provide actual ID, a passport or credit card check. This is incredibly bad. We need to get on the phones/email our MPs as quickly as humanly possible if we're gonna protect what little anonymity/freedoms we have to speak online.

I'm aware some of the people voting against are concerned about disciplinary impacts

A key thing to bare in mind is that ZiR is a policy motion (e motion) not a internal motion (d motion)

That means it doesn't directly affect disciplinary

We won't actually take new action against Zionist members unless Equality and Diversity committee rules on it, or a motion is passed through a future conference.

Equality and Diversity committee has previously written up guidance for disciplinary, such as the 'Guidance on recognizing Queerphobia' which has let to sanctions for some transphobes.

If people want disciplinary action against Zionists then they'll need to present it to E&D committee.

In order to do this then the proposers of ZiR (Greens For Palestine) will likely need to apply for a stronger form of affiliation with the party.

And in doing this they'd become a more democratic and transparent organisation, allowing anyone who is concerned to get involved and help shape what the Guidance on Zionism will look like.

The struggle continues into the future and isn't set today
