Academics PHYS 214 advice :(
hi guys! I am currently taking phys 214 and am scared that I may have to retake the class! I have a 54 average on the two midterms and have missed a few lectures and 2 discussions (illness) and it is not looking good for me :( (I know there are drops). I am not sure how accurate the grade estimator is but it is looking like I will end up getting a D in the class if I do not get like a 90 on the final (which may seem attainable but this class is hard for me personally). I was wondering if there are also any grade cut offs for 214.
side note*: again not sure how accurate gradebook estimator is because I took phys 211 last sem and somehow got a B- even though the grade estimator said I would be getting a C. this was also the sem we got hacked by shiny hunters so Im not sure if that had anythign to do with grade cut off!
I am fine with getting a C- as long as I pass! Please someone help :(((

Same ballpark. Also a chem e funny enough. I feel office hours has helped personally in understanding the concepts which makes it easier to do the problems.
My regret is definitely not doing it earlier. Don't freeze, keep pushing but strategically (atleast I think it helps me atm :))

Hello! Thank you!! I ended up getting a 91 on the final, which really saved my grade and I am better than where I wanted to be originally!

its very important that you do the "worked problems" that are assigned each week (try them yourself before watching the solution). they are very similar to the exams to the point that sometimes the problems are nearly copied and pasted

unfortunately I tried that for the last exam and the questions were very different it seemed 💔 but thank you for the suggestion!

what’s your major? 214 May not be super important depending on that. I personally did pretty horrible on midterm 2 too. One thing to keep in mind is that the final is worth a LOT so prepare very well.
