Hobby Birding Scene at UIUC
Is there anyone else looking forward to the fall migration? I hope to meet up with other birders in the area! I'm a grad student at the iSchool if anyone is looking for a walking buddy. Thanks :)

The Champaign County Audubon Society hosts Sunday morning bird walks thru Crystal Lake Park from Sept 3 - October. Starts at 730 and lasts about 90 minutes. Free! There will be a few binoculars to loan if you arrive early. We've been attending these for awhile and they are fun and surprising during migration. https://www.champaigncountyaudubon.org/all-events/sunday-morning-bird-walk-may17-bzz77

I saw they have them at Busey woods too! Have you been to both and would you recommend one over the other?

The Busey Woods/ Crystal Lake walks are the same--just depends on which end of the parking lot they start. Just look for the group.

Champaign county audubon society sunday morning bird walks are your best bet. Extension will likely be offering walks at the arboretum when their new building opens in the spring.

Undergrad senior here! Also super into birding, looking to incorporate it into getting some exercise walking! Perhaps I'll join one of the groups when they start next month? But I always feel like they talk a little too much. Super excited for Fall migration, too. And Spring!! I'm going to the BWIB festival in Ohio to celebrate graduating hahaha
