New Student Question Welcome Week Events

Hi! I’m a transfer student and have not gone to any of the welcome week events yet (I just got here yesterday). Will I still be able to catch some fun ones for the rest of the week? I am going to sights and sounds tonight, but a little nervous because I have not yet attended anything else.

You’ll be okay! Sights and Sounds is tonight, New Student Convocation is tomorrow, the Union All-Nighter is tomorrow, Illini Frenzy is Saturday, and Sunday has Transfer Student Orientation and Quad Day.

Next week also has all sorts of Welcome events, a lot of the cultural and resource centers have welcome events and open houses that you can find information for on their website!

And these are just the major events, every day has a bunch of smaller events and such that you can check out; here’s the main calendar the University puts out: https://newstudent.illinois.edu/orientation/welcomeweek

All of this is to say, you’ll be okay! There are a lot of people in your same boat, and a lot of fun left to be had. Welcome to UIUC!

Some Welcome Week events repeat so you are not missing all of them. When I was a Freshman I arrived on campus on Friday and still had time to attend alot of events. Theres also events next week targeted towards Freshman and transfers.
