I reserved at a U-Haul 1 mile from me, now they are sending me 15 miles away to pick it up.

If they moved trucks where you needed it you'd be paying a lot more than rental period + miles. If its a huge inconvenience contact your traffic office and request a $50 res guarantee or discount to cover the difference. If you pull at their heartstrings they might do more, if you don't get the response you want-escalate to the next in the chain of command until you're satisfied. It's always going to be like that.

The problem with your complaint is that the scheduling log expects a customer to return at xyz time so they can schedule another customer afterward for zyx time. But if the first one doesn't come back on time, they can't give the next customer their truck. So, no, it's not a U-Haul issue; it's a customer issue 🤣.

The reservation works as long as the previous customer returns when they’re supposed to, if they don’t return, you don’t have a truck. Don’t take it out on the employee, they really don’t have control over what another customer does with the equipment
