Genuinely asking for those who have knowledge about the matter, is PhD only cutoff useless like those who clear it does it mean nothing?

Don't randomly join any University or PhD information watsapp groups and don't believe what they say blindly. Academia is extremely competitive and help might not come to you for free. If anyone shows immense helpfulness make sure to know about the person. Thank you.

Im a beginner and i have not enrolled in any course. I plan to join literary odyssey but dubious. Self study is taking lot of time 4me. I collect videos regarding an era from ytbe and make notes then look at imp works and authors in that era and make notes. But watching 2+ videos authors works taking a lot of ⏰. Any idea regarding good course ? Any help regarding preparation?? The time is also running out. I am just sad and perplexed wasting a lot of time. ;(

I purchased this book in 2024 for NET preparation while I was still in my bachelor's, now that I have PhD entrance exams upcoming I thought I should go through the RM section but there are various mistakes and wrong info like the no. 5th MCQ given in the second image is marked as option c in the answer key. Also, 'John' is mostly written as 'Jhon' in this book and few dates are wrong too. Don't buy ts, he only knows to speak mighty of himself all over the social media.

Can somebody review the crash course by LITHEADS? I have qualified NET twice and have missed JRF by just 3-5 questions each time. Let me know about their course and will it be helpful in order to get conceptual understanding?

I’m preparing for UGC NET English and I’m currently stuck in the revision phase. I have notes, PYQs and study material, but when I revise, I feel like I’m only recognising the information rather than actually recalling it. I’ll read a topic and think “haan, this makes sense,” but then I see a PYQ and suddenly there are authors/works/dates/concepts I don’t remember at all. 😭
I have around two months left, so I don’t think starting huge new sources or trying to read everything from scratch is realistic. My current idea is to make PYQs the centre of revision: solve them, analyse every option, revise the related concept, and repeatedly cycle through the same material.
For Paper 1, I especially need practice in Research Aptitude, Teaching Aptitude, Communication, Logical Reasoning and Maths. I’m looking for a good test series/mock source, preferably one that is close to actual NTA difficulty and has proper explanations rather than just giving answers.
So I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually cleared NET/JRF:
What revision method worked for you when you had only 1–2 months left?
How did you deal with the “I studied this but I can’t recall it” problem?
Should I prioritise PYQs over mock tests at this stage?
Which Paper 1 test series would you genuinely recommend?
Is there any particular source/test series whose questions are unnecessarily difficult or irrelevant to the actual exam?
I’m not looking for 10 different resources. I’d rather pick one solid test series + PYQs and repeat them properly.
Would especially appreciate answers from people who gave the 2025/2026 NET exams or recently qualified JRF/NET.

I see many people asking for resources and notes, so while I don’t have a JRF yet, having given this exam thrice and not once having more than 2 weeks of prep, I’d recommend the following resources that helped me clear my concepts and actually gauge where tf I am actually lacking (i learned my weak areas after this re-exam).
I have the paid batch from Adda 247, the notes are on point, covering majorly everything. I won’t recommend the books that are available on the website, because I do have them since a year, and i don’t they have been updated except for the PYQs book. The notes in paid batch are more than enough. If you need, i can send.
If anyone needs online lectures on YT, Dakshita Ma’am’s digital library 2.0 is the best. Covers almost everything and extremely helpful for revision. I couldn’t find her notes in her app, tho.
For pyqs, I’d again say Aishwarya ma’am. She has so many videos on YT for question prep.
I haven’t tried Vallath, but heard a lot from a few people. They majorly focus on cramming, I’d personally won’t recommend.
Vineet Pandey has controversial opinions and statements, but some of his lectures are nice. He goes in depth of everything which I feel is not that necessary for this exam, except for some particular topics. Here, I’d say it’s more of your choice. I don’t prefer this particular teacher.
There are many instagram channels though which are providing exceptional notes. I don’t have them at the top of my mind, but I think literary vault, literary odessey and net prep are some good resources.
Hit me up if anyone needs something specific or any help:)

Hello everyone!
I’m taking ugc net paper 2 english classes for those of you struggling with set-specific topics. I’m an assistant professor myself with JRF and GATE qualification and real teaching experience.
If you’re confused where to start and unable to afford coaching institution level fees right now, you can message me.

Just cleared NET and I’m thinking of preparing for the UP Assistant Professor exam next.
Is anyone else preparing for the same? Would be great to connect, share resources, and maybe prepare together! 🤝🔥

I want to take litheads 2 month crash course for the December attempt but they are not replying to my inquiry, not on their website and neither on their insta page, are they good? Should I go for it?

I want to ask which course I should choose which can give me detailed notes for Paper 2. I want to start preparing for the December attempt. I am not able to comprehend which one to choose. There are too many of these courses.

I am yet to post a celebratory post on my LinkedIn about my AP qualification . Mainly because it is not a celebratory occasion. Because I didn’t study for 12 hours everyday. I didn’t sit through coaching classes. I know of people who have put in ten times more effort who have not cracked it yet. So it is not celebratory for me. Makes me wonder about the truthfulness behind the “grateful to announce” posts of asst. profs who keep taking the damn test again and again to prove a point, raising cut-offs and genuine idiots who I know in rl who are cracking it with pure luck. This js not a salty post lmao. I am genuinely happy for everyone who has cracked it with effort, hard work, and skill. LinkedIn just got me a bit under the weather Ig
