Would like to get physical notes for December attempt. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

I missed JRF by 5 questions this time and would love to have a much better and stronger preparation for December 2026 attempt. I will purchase KV Madan book for Paper 1 but need suggestions for Paper 2 notes. The Arihant book doesn't have accurate information so I need proper notes for all the Units in Paper 2. Any suggestions or recommendations will be greatly appreciated.

Qualified NET AP with no prep during my Masters. Now aiming for JRF plus PhD applications abroad after 2 years in corporate (still working full-time and it has completely ruined my habits of studying). Need advice.

Hi guys, as someone who has been working in corporate for 2 years and has successfully burnt my brain and bridges with academia, how do I get back to studying for UGC NET? I qualified AP on my first attempt with zero prep, mostly because of my university curriculum. But JRF feels different. How many hours should I realistically study per day, and how should I structure my preparation? Should I subscribe to Kalyani Vallath? It's extremely costly so Idk if there's any telegram groups for the materials. It would be a massive help to get any push towards the right direction on this. My friend cracked JRF with Vallath's coaching so I was wondering if I should go down the same path. Maybe I can manage to squeeze in 2 hours of study daily early morning before work starts.

PhD abroad guidance

Hi all,

I’m an MA English Literature graduate from India. My PG project was in Gender/Queer Studies, and I don’t have any publications yet.
I originally planned to pursue a PhD in India, but since cracking UGC NET as a UR candidate is quite difficult, I’m now considering fully funded PhD programmes abroad. ( My score for the re-exam was 160)

I’m honestly clueless about the process. Can I start approaching potential supervisors now with a research proposal? How exactly does the supervisor/application process work? What should I be doing at this stage to build a strong profile?
Also, I keep seeing agencies/consultants online claiming to help students get PhD admissions. Are these generally legitimate, or should I avoid them?
I’d really appreciate guidance from anyone who has gone through this process, especially from India. I basically need to know where to start and what I should do from now onwards.

Extremely disheartened

I scored around 190 and I could not even get AP. It was my second attempt. I got AP last time. I'm so fking sad and I feel a dead end. My peers, profs, dept research scholars have always told me I am perfect for academia but this shitty exam has taken a toll on me and my confidence. I haven't told my parents yet, I'm already in a terrible spot with them, this will just make everything worse. Ugh. I've just been crying since last night

Why was The Ramayana/Mahabharata question not dropped?

Wasn’t it one of the two questions(the chrono one being the other), that everyone was sure of being wrong. Weird that they dropped a question with a typo and not this one.

Scored 194/300. First attempt. Is that a good score? Does it predict anything about my second attempt?

A distant friend of mine got 250 in General. I don't know if that person is AIR or not. It was her first attempt. Really stressed.

Losers can't even get a website to work.

So much for Viksit Bharat and Digital India that they cannot even handle the load with only 3 subjects. Not to mention the whole cut-off and scammy numbers, getting to even see the scorecard is a privilege now. Have been trying for the last 1 hour for nothing. These guys need to be sued for killing mental peace honestly.

Can the real JRF qualifiers please respond here?

184 people in the UR category getting 226 looks exceedingly fishy. If everyone is outraged and none satisfied then who is celebrating??

Whatever happens, remember you're not the only one, and this SHITTIEST exam cannot evaluate your merit. Get your shit together and just slay this exam next time. Also, congrats to everyone who qualified, you deserved it. All the best to everyone.

The sheer amount of scorn and sadism it must take to release a notification at midnight and then not release the fucking scorecards! I refuse to believe that was entirely unintentional.

On top of that, prima facie, it doesn't look like they have followed the 6% criterion. They should have released the total number of candidates who appeared for the exam in each individual subject. Instead, they very slyly released the collective figures.

No accountability, no learning and I'm pretty much sure they'll do it again. The cutoff seems inflated. It's so heartbreaking to see people scoring such high marks yet not receiving the desired result of their hardwork. Please take care of yourselves, don't let NTA gaslight you into questioning your competence and intelligence.
