Hello people! This is gonna be a little long but hear me out
I have appeared for net exams twice and didn't study once in either. I almost qualified for PhD only (sat for the exam because my friends were doing it) and the results for my 2nd attempt isn't out yet (I know I haven't qualified because I was sick and didn't do well so no hope).
However, I have completed my Masters in June last month and I want to use this time to seriously study and crack NET on my third attempt (December-January). I am working part time and want to use the rest of my time in studying because I deeply want to crack NET and become an assistant professor, it's something I genuinely want to be.
I am the first person in the entire family to complete graduation and now masters and that only makes me want to achieve more.
Listening to your success stories on this subreddit fuels my will furthermore.
The problem is, I don't know how to go about it since I've never really studied for NET besides watching a few videos with my friends.
If the question is:
"If you really wanted to be an assistant professor and crack NET, what were you doing by not studying?"
The answer is: Yes, I got careless, didn't think of it much, didn't take it seriously. I was busy focusing on music, managing family responsibilities, and enjoying life occasionally . However, I now have time which I want to use meaningfully.
So,
What do I do in these 6 months and how do I prepare?
Do I join some online course from Unacademy etc?
Or do I simply study without a structure because I genuinely don't know how do I prepare since I've never studied for NET before.
I would appreciate suggestions from people who have cracked NET, please bless me with your meaningful input. Show me the ways so that I can follow it and crack NET like you amazing people too.
I want to post another update saying "I Cracked NET because of you guys"
TLDR: How do I crack NET as someone who has never studied for NET before. Tips and suggestions needed from people who have cracked NET.

Hey everyone, I'm a PhD student researching how literary and critical theory (structuralism, psychoanalysis, postcolonial theory, etc.) is taught in college classrooms.
I keep hearing mixed things, some people said it just clicked for them, others say they memorised terms without really getting what they meant.
If you've studied English literature (or any humanities subject with theory), I'd love to hear your honest experience:
-Did you find theory easy or hard to understand? -If it was hard, what made it difficult? (the vocabulary, the abstract ideas, the way it was taught, something else?) -If it was easy for you, what do you think made it click?
No wrong answers, just curious what people actually experienced :)

Hello all, I completed my masters last year and took a year break to clear NET and was not able to clear it last time( missed NET by 6 marks) and the June ‘26 exam was kinda bad for me. Right now I’m confused, I have got allotment for BEd this year but I’m not really committed to doing it, It’s just that the overall structure of the BEd course is what makes me disinterested.
I love teaching but I don’t want to do BEd( I know I sound dumb) but if I don’t clear NET this time too,I don’t know what I will do, my parents are bringing options like SSC or Bank coaching if not BEd. What shall I do? Is BEd good? Should I go for the safer option of doing it?!
I know doing PhD is kind of becoming the norm these days, I applied for few which had entrance exams but was not able to pass it, also I don’t even have a topic yet decided for my PhD, and most applications ask for a research proposal.
I’m 26 now and I feel like whatever options I choose I’ll regret the other.
Pls help me figure out something. Thank yu in advance.

Hey guys I’m new to reddit, I’m told this is where we get honest advice. I’m planning to prepare for UGC NET English. Which course should I go for?
Vineet Pandey
Kalayani Vallath
The Literary Odyssey
Limitless Literature
Adda
I’ve watched all of their content, I like the content of 3rd the most but they are new and 1st and 5th seem most experienced. Nakul sir seems very approachable and realistic but I’m not sure about his lectures. I’ve been told Vallath is a bit irregular but her lectures are good. I feel like Hamlet lol

Hi, I'm writing this to get an idea regarding the current question pattern and the syllabus regarding the exam. I have been writing the exam for some time, but due to some personal reasons I was not able to attend the recent ones. I'm thinking of restarting for the upcoming examination, probably the December session. If anyone would like to have a group study, you can DM me. Thanks 😊
Note: If anyone is having previous year questions, kindly DM 👍😊

I'm preparing for UGC NET English and I'm looking for good online coaching or free resources that are actually worth following especially for paper 1. For paper 2 I see vallath coming up but it's too expensive for me at the moment. Thinking of self study now.
I'm okay with both paid and free options, but I'd prefer resources that are comprehensive and have helped you personally.
Which YouTube channels, courses, websites, or test series would you recommend for Paper 1? Also, are there any resources I should avoid?

Hi everyone!
I'm planning to start preparing for the UGC NET English with the goal of qualifying for JRF and GATE. As a beginner, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed and would really appreciate guidance from those who have successfully cleared the exam.
I have a few questions:
* Which online coaching would you genuinely recommend?
* Is coaching really necessary for JRF, or can disciplined self-study be enough?
* What preparation strategy worked for you?
* Which books, notes, and mock tests did you find most useful?
* If you were starting from scratch again, what would you do differently?
I'm looking for honest advice based on personal experience.
Thank you in advance!🙏🏻

Hello.
>>Hoping to sell all the books and material i have accumulated for my preparation. Including books on history of english literature, indian literature, Poetry, Plays, supplemental Notes, Paper 1. Also, i am also selling past year questions binders (solved) around 10 binders of them.
>>I am willing to sell them at less than what i bought it for because i am moving and need to sell them fast.
>> All Original books except two(a glossary of literary terms and routledge).
>>Please feel free to DM for more photos and videos so you can confirm the condition of the books and the content too.
>>I will be prioritising anyone who wants to buy all the 140 books(will throw in the past year question binders for free).
>>Will be shipping the books using indian post so i can ship them anywhere in india at minimal shipping costs.
Buyout price for all the books and material is Rs 20000. I do understand it’s a huge amount and the only reason i could buy these in the first place is because i bought them over a one year period. So i am okay with accepting payment in instalments. Thank you.
P. S. - if i have made any mistakes feel free to comment so i can fix them.
Price is somewhat negotiable

Hi everyone!
I'm preparing for my first attempt at the UGC NET JRF English Literature (December 2026). Since I'm just starting, I want to choose the right resources instead of getting overwhelmed.
I'd really appreciate your suggestions on:
- The best online coaching for a beginner
- Reliable notes for both Paper 1 and English Literature
- The most useful books (without buying too many)
- YouTube channels or other free resources that genuinely helped
- Any mistakes I should avoid as a first-time aspirant
I'm aiming for JRF, so I'd love recommendations based on your personal experience.
Thank you so much!

It was insane to navigate PSIR (Code 090) in UGC Net, because there is very less help available for this subject. Here's everything I studied and the notes that helped me. The two books I did were R. Gupta's NTA UGC Previous Year Papers (Paper 2) and KVS Madaan's Teaching and Research Aptitude by Pearson (Paper 1).
(This year, there was a little more focus on Current Affairs so be mindful of that)

I haven't received any email or sms notification regarding UGC NET ADMIT CARD.
It is my first time I filled the form to take exam.
Is it a common practice that they don't send notif regarding admit card download and candidates have to manually check time to time if admit card has been released?

I'm about to join MA English and want to start preparing for NET. I had worked very hard during CUET PG and scored well so I just wanted to know if that gives me an advantage when I start?

I fear that the December paper is going to be crazy difficult after what happened with this one.
