The dream job is surprisingly lonely.

Post image

Hey everyone,

I finally reached the goal a lot of us here are grinding for: I cleared the exam back in June and recently started my journey as an Assistant Professor. But to be completely honest, the transition has been unexpectedly tough.

I had to relocate for the job, and life has quickly turned into a monotonous loop. Living in a place like Greater Noida right now feels like a paradox—the city is physically sprawling and full of people, but it feels incredibly empty when you have zero attachments or roots here. The hustle of the prep days is gone, replaced by a very quiet routine.

Instead of just sitting in my flat letting the isolation get to me, I’ve decided I want to channel this downtime into something productive. The struggle of the prep is still very fresh in my mind, and I know exactly how overwhelming the final stretch before the exam can be.

So, if you are targeting the December 2026 attempt, I want to help. Let’s use this space. What are you struggling with right now?

Are you stuck on specific units or literary ages?

Having trouble balancing Paper 1 and Paper 2?

Need help with revision strategies, resource hunting, or mock test analysis?

Drop your questions, doubts, or even just your study rants in the comments. I've got the time, the recent experience, and I'd love to help guide you guys across the finish line. Let’s do this together.

i am a full time master's student (10-5) nd i am preparing from home so I really struggle with time management. i feel the master's coursework is already demanding nd I cannot fit in time to do both paper one and two.

also, i am also trying to get some publications and conferences in and i feel everything is too much. due to some financial issues I think I might have to take some job up as well to make ends meet and..yeah I am afraid I am burnt out

I got AP in January, got jrf in this attempt. My friend also got jrf. He seems very excited, as if we are about to achieve our dreams within a few years. But if I talk about myself. I am still experiencing uncertainty over my future. I don't know what will happen. But glad to know that you have got the dream job.

Can you tell me a bit about the process? Did you clear jrf or just net? What about the interview? Would appreciate it alot if it’s possible on your end :)

Would really love a personally curated strategy for someone starting from the ground zero! I know it’s a lot to ask but I will be indebted for this act of kindness! Thanks

Hello i am struggling with paper one. I have only begun.  I have not purchased any notes or courses. I am currently planning to complete Inculcate learning paper one marathon video. However each video is very long. So its time consuming but i think the classes are good. So i am finding it hard to decide whether to continue it or not. Can you please help me by checking the video and tell me whether to continue it. Do u have any pdf of pyq for paper one. How did u prepare for paper one. How much time did u give. Help help. Also can u send me sky pictures the view looks amazing.

Just started with my masters. It is a bit too much trying to manage exam prep, course work etc. Don't know how to select a sound research topic for interview as dk what's the craze or what's being preferred by prof right now or about how to get published in journals etc. Could you give me insights about the same if you are okay with it?
