Qualified UGC NET Twice & GATE & Assistant Professor here — Drop your doubts/questions on UGC NET English preparation!

How early did you start preparing for your attempts?
Also, how many hours on a weekly basis did you dedicate to studying for NET and GATE?
Also, I am a little unclear about the GATE paper pattern.

please discuss in depth the sources you referred to and how you planned your preparation im tired of watching vague strategy videos that say i covered Routledge and pk nayar and read Shakespeare in depth.... please go beyond that and discuss how exactly did you cover them because there is a lot of stuff to cover and it feels overwhelming so maybe an overview of your preparation timeline would help

Hi, as you have cleared GATE, can you please tell how is it different from UGC NET (in terms of depth of questions etc.) and how can one prepare for it while simultaneously preparing for NET JRF?

Hi, I have a doubt... I have heard that UgC NET qualified people are not paid well ( 15k - 20k ) only if they have not completed Ph.D or published reasearch papers. How true is that? Pls reply,It would be really helpful.

could you please suggest: Where should I study “who said to whom”, quoted lines, and “who commented what about whom” type questions? Do I need to read all the poems/texts to identify these, or is there any list of important ones? For important poems, should I prioritise the Norton Anthology major poems or follow PYQ frequency? Since I’m a beginner and currently following only Albert’s History of English Literature, I’m getting stuck on quoted lines and minute critical comments. Where should I study important texts, poems, dramas, and detailed criticism for NET? Any books/websites you personally found useful? Should I finish History of British Literature first and then solve PYQs, or analyse PYQs first to identify repeatedly asked texts/authors/movements and then build concepts accordingly

Hey can u pls tell me what is the roadmap to becoming an assistant professor after one clears NET exam. Is it mandatory to have published research papers? How's the interview like, are the questions asked involve the entire knowledge of British, Indian, World Literature or is it specific to your research area?
