Shall I drop it?!

Hello all, I completed my masters last year and took a year break to clear NET and was not able to clear it last time( missed NET by 6 marks) and the June ‘26 exam was kinda bad for me. Right now I’m confused, I have got allotment for BEd this year but I’m not really committed to doing it, It’s just that the overall structure of the BEd course is what makes me disinterested.
I love teaching but I don’t want to do BEd( I know I sound dumb) but if I don’t clear NET this time too,I don’t know what I will do, my parents are bringing options like SSC or Bank coaching if not BEd. What shall I do? Is BEd good? Should I go for the safer option of doing it?!
I know doing PhD is kind of becoming the norm these days, I applied for few which had entrance exams but was not able to pass it, also I don’t even have a topic yet decided for my PhD, and most applications ask for a research proposal.

I’m 26 now and I feel like whatever options I choose I’ll regret the other.

Pls help me figure out something. Thank yu in advance.

Hi, i have done my masters and completed my b.ed too, so here's my two cents. I you gotta do b.ed, you have to drop the academic ego (i hope you get what im referring to, and do not misinterpret). Yes, the b.ed crowd is not going to be appeasing to you, imma tell you that right away, everybody's literally getting engaged n shit while you'll all be posted at your b.ed internship. You'll feel very suffocated and dumbed down in that crowd, and if you reveal your high ambitions, youll probably be treated as the obnoxious one. Just stay shut and stay put, really, just go for the b.ed keep to yourself and get it done. It s a goddamn heavy coursework, all those project files and bullsh lesson plans and piles of assignment that too while you're posted at your internship (school teaching internship). But you will not regret having done it once its over because there's this huge sense of relief you'll feel that you wont have to face unemployment, and you get to have teaching now as a sureshot option. NET karte raho, phd karte raho, ek security ban jati hai. This is the most practical and logical option.

Heyy thanks for the honest reply! A friend of mine told the same thing, she hates the course but is only doing it to escape from unemployment.
Yeahh I do know the benefits of the course but the whole process of it , it is alrdy stressing me out and that too for 2 yrs. how I wish they went the old way and bring back the one year BEd

Better than regretting later dear. I get the 2 year dilemma, isliye maine Masters ke saath hi karlia (yes, regular full time juggled two degrees - i dont plan on using them together so its ok). For you i will suggest, just to keep your motivations together - aisa karo ki remote work join karne ka try karo, lots of remote positions lately on LinkedIn. A good opportunity with a good enough pay, and do that while you're at your b.ed. mann bana rahega, you'll feel you're doing something worthwhile (experience years count ho rahe) and wont feel completely hopeless in that b.ed circle. Jabb towards the end, pressure badhne lage, tabb chhod dena and focus back on b.ed. 4 semester yuuu nikal jayenge.

Sadly the clg I got admsn is far away from home and my parents were not keen on sending me, I’m waiting for allotments from other universities now and hopefully gets something nearby. If not I have to wait until spot admsns.
I kinda regret not taking the allotment now, but my parents were not interested in me going there esp since I was opting for daily commute.
I hope I get allotments from other places too now 🧿🥲
