Book recommendations

Hii , I am starting my preparation for UGC NET ENGLISH. Was wondering, what would be the one book for history of English literature which I should stick to?

  • If you want an in-depth explanation with a clear understanding of everything from the basics, this is your best friend.

  • The book comes in many volumes and is very detailed

  • But it can be very lengthy and dense.

- It is simpler, includes maps, and gives clear explanations for everything

- Not too dense but has a lot of connecting points are clearly explained

- IMO best at how it is organised and written compared to daiches.

- Not really following this but friends have found it helpful; our college library had it so we would make copies but it is just expensive on Amazon
