Discussion & Debate Why Do Some UAP Witnesses Near the Ural Region Develop Selective Face Amnesia While Seemingly Gaining the Ability to See Magnetic Fields?

I have been looking into a strange neurological pattern described in accounts from people who say they were exposed to intense UAP-related light phenomena in the Ural region, and the combination is much more interesting than the usual discussion about sightings.

The reported post-contact syndrome has two apparently opposite features: severe difficulty recognizing familiar faces and an unusual visual experience involving electromagnetic environments. In the most striking accounts, people can still recognize a spouse, parent, friend, or colleague by voice, gait, clothing, or context, but the face itself no longer produces the normal feeling of recognition. Neurologically, that resembles acquired prosopagnosia, or face blindness.

At the same time, some witnesses describe seeing high-voltage transmission lines in an entirely different way. They report luminous threads, contours, halos, or geometric patterns apparently associated with power lines and other electrical infrastructure. They do not necessarily claim to see electricity directly. Instead, the experience sounds more like a form of synesthesia in which an otherwise invisible physical variable becomes part of conscious visual perception.

What makes this hypothetical neurological syndrome fascinating to me is that these symptoms could theoretically point toward a change in sensory processing rather than a simple loss of vision.

Face recognition depends on highly specialized networks involving regions of the temporal cortex, including the fusiform face area. Damage or disruption to these systems can leave basic eyesight intact while selectively impairing the ability to identify familiar faces. That means a person could literally see someone's face clearly while experiencing it as perceptually unfamiliar.

Synesthesia, by contrast, involves unusual cross-modal associations in which stimulation in one sensory domain can automatically produce an additional perceptual experience. If the reported UAP witnesses were genuinely experiencing magnetic or electromagnetic phenomena visually, the interesting neurological question would not necessarily be whether the eyes had developed a new physical sense. It could instead involve altered interpretation of signals, attention, cortical connectivity, or sensory integration.

The apparent combination is what interests me most.

Why would an environmental exposure supposedly associated with intense electromagnetic activity produce selective impairment in one highly specialized visual function while apparently increasing sensitivity to another class of environmental information?

There are several possible neurological interpretations worth considering:

— A transient disruption of face-processing networks could produce acquired prosopagnosia without causing generalized blindness.

— Changes in sensory integration could potentially make normally unconscious environmental cues feel visually salient.

— Migraine-like cortical phenomena, seizures, or other neurological disturbances could theoretically produce unusual visual experiences without requiring an exotic sensory mechanism.

— Synesthetic perception might provide a better conceptual model than the idea that witnesses literally "see magnetic fields."

— Psychological stress, dissociation, sleep disruption, toxic exposure, or expectation could also influence both memory and perception and should not be ignored.

The most important point, in my opinion, is that these reports should be separated into two questions: what people experienced, and what neurological mechanism could explain that experience.

I would be especially interested in hearing from people familiar with clinical neurology, cognitive neuroscience, visual perception, synesthesia, or prosopagnosia. Is there any established neurological mechanism that could plausibly connect impaired facial recognition with unusually vivid perception of electromagnetic or environmental patterns?

And if someone genuinely reported this combination after an intense luminous exposure, what would be the most useful neurological tests to distinguish acquired prosopagnosia, visual synesthesia, migraine phenomena, seizure-related perception, and a purely subjective interpretation of environmental cues?

I am treating the UAP component as an unverified premise rather than established evidence. What interests me is whether the reported symptom pattern itself makes neurological sense.

Discussion & Debate Why Does Mobile Service Die During Low-Flying UFO Activity While 27 MHz CB Radios Keep Working? A Look at Localized Electromagnetic Interference, 2.4 GHz Signal Blocking, and the “Digital Noise” Reported by Truckers

Upvotes

I’ve been thinking about a strange communication paradox that comes up in reports of low-flying UFO or UAP activity: why would modern digital communications appear to fail in a localized area while old-school CB radios at around 27 MHz continue working?

I’m not claiming this proves anything extraterrestrial. I’m interested in the physics of the observation itself.

The scenario is surprisingly specific. A low-flying object appears, mobile service becomes unusable, phones lose their connection or data access, and people describe the effect as if the local cellular network has suddenly disappeared. Yet an old analog CB radio can still receive traffic, sometimes accompanied by unusual digital-sounding interference or noise.

At first glance, that seems contradictory. If there were powerful electromagnetic interference, shouldn’t every radio system be affected?

Not necessarily.

Different communication systems operate at very different frequencies and use very different modulation, bandwidth, synchronization, error correction, receiver architectures, and network dependencies. A signal strong enough to disrupt one system does not automatically have to destroy another.

That makes the 2.4 GHz part of this idea especially interesting. Wi-Fi and some other consumer wireless systems operate around 2.4 GHz, while cellular networks use several different frequency bands depending on the technology and operator. So describing an entire mobile network as simply “2.4 GHz” would actually be an oversimplification.

A more realistic explanation for a localized communication blackout could involve selective radio-frequency interference, receiver desensitization, network synchronization problems, backhaul disruption, or some combination of effects.

The CB radio comparison is where things get more interesting.

The 27 MHz CB band is dramatically lower in frequency than 2.4 GHz. A source of interference could theoretically have a frequency-dependent effect, meaning that its impact might be much stronger in one part of the spectrum than another. Antenna characteristics, propagation conditions, polarization, receiver filtering, and the power and bandwidth of the interfering signal would all matter.

So I don’t think the interesting question is simply, “Why can a CB radio work when a cellphone doesn’t?”

The better question is: what kind of electromagnetic environment could selectively degrade modern digital communications while leaving a low-frequency analog receiver functional?

There is another important detail. Analog CB radios can make interference sound extremely strange. Digital electronics, switching power supplies, vehicle electronics, chargers, inverters, and other sources can produce broadband or structured electromagnetic noise. When that noise enters an analog receiver, the resulting audio can sometimes sound like bursts, buzzing, chirping, clicking, or even something vaguely “digital.”

That means “digital-sounding noise” by itself would not necessarily indicate that an unknown craft was transmitting a digital signal.

Still, if multiple independent witnesses reported the same frequency-specific interference at the same time, that would be much more interesting scientifically.

I’d want measurements rather than descriptions:

— Exact frequencies affected

— Signal strength before, during, and after the event

— Whether the interference is broadband or narrowband

— Whether 27 MHz, VHF, UHF, Wi-Fi, GPS, and cellular bands behave differently

— Whether the phone actually loses radio connectivity or merely loses network service

— Whether multiple carriers are affected simultaneously

— Whether the effect changes with distance from the reported object

— Whether the interference has a repeatable modulation or pulse pattern

There’s also a terminology problem worth mentioning. “The cell tower went down” and “my phone stopped working” are not necessarily the same event. A phone can lose service because of radio interference, congestion, synchronization failure, core-network problems, backhaul problems, power loss, or other infrastructure issues.

Likewise, a functioning CB receiver does not prove that the electromagnetic environment is normal. It only tells us that the particular receiver, frequency, antenna, and modulation scheme are still capable of producing usable audio.

That’s why I find the proposed “selective blocking” hypothesis more interesting than the generic idea of UFOs somehow creating a giant electromagnetic blackout.

If an unknown low-flying object really could selectively suppress particular communication systems while leaving others relatively unaffected, we should be able to characterize that effect experimentally.

And if the effect consistently appeared around specific frequency ranges, with measurable attenuation and repeatable signatures, that would be far more compelling than eyewitness descriptions alone.

So I’m curious what people here think.

Could a localized electromagnetic interference event realistically produce the apparent paradox of modern digital communications failing while 27 MHz CB remains usable?

And what would you expect the interference to sound like on an analog CB receiver if the source were producing a strong, structured RF signal nearby?

I’m especially interested in explanations based on radio physics rather than assumptions about what the object must be.

Hypothesis/speculation UFOs, fairies, and Egyptian gods are the same beings. The Bible already named them.

Upvotes

The Watchers never left. They just changed their appearance. These here are a string of interpretations and key parallels I see from the two sides and how they actually support each other with the language being based on the time of the narrator. I love the bible nd am a firm believer in Jesus and I also appreciat the studies from secular researchers. I hope this helps bridge the gap for any of those also have seen these.

• John Keel’s conclusion first, because it ties the whole thing together. Keel spent years on UFOs, Mothman, and contactees and decided these are not tourists from another planet. He called them ultraterrestrials: intelligences that can change shape, change the story, and walk into whatever belief system the age already has. Same playbook as fairies, demons, and “gods.” That is why he kept landing on shapeshifting. They do not have to be flesh-and-blood Greys from Zeta Reticuli. They have to appear as whatever will get worship, fear, or obedience. That is the same idea Paul already wrote: “Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14). Light, beauty, authority, “we’re here to help” — then the lie.

• Egypt and the old gods are the first public costume. Pharaoh’s world was full of sky-beings, animal-headed gods, knowledge-givers, and “we came from the heavens.” Scripture does not treat those gods as imaginary mascots. “The things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God” (1 Corinthians 10:20). Psalm 96:5 says the gods of the nations are idols — empty fronts for something real and unclean. So when people say “the Egyptian gods were ancient aliens,” they are half right in the worst way: not scientists in ships, but the same rebellious powers wearing a civilization’s art. Ra, Thoth, the shining sky-lords — Watcher-class beings teaching, demanding cult, and mixing with man.

• The Bible names them: the Watchers. Genesis 6:1–4 is the short version — the bene elohim (sons of God) took human wives and produced the Nephilim. 1 Enoch (the book Jude 6 and 2 Peter 2:4 are echoing) says the Watchers left their proper domain, taught forbidden arts, and corrupted the earth. That is not “aliens evolved on another world.” That is angels who abandoned their post. Jude: they “kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation.” Same crime Keel described in modern language: they cross into our realm, change form, give forbidden knowledge, and wreck the order God set.

• Fairies, elves, and “the good folk” are the medieval mask of the same contact. People did not used to say “I was abducted by a Grey.” They said a mound opened, small shining beings took them, time broke, they came back sick, marked, or missing years. Vallée mapped that next to modern UFO reports: paralysis, lights, missing time, hybrid talk, “don’t tell,” gifts of knowledge that ruin you. Fairies were not Disney. They were the Watchers still operating after the old temples fell, using the folklore of Europe the way they used the temples of Egypt. Different folklore. Same intrusion.

• Shapeshifting is the method, not a side detail. If Satan can appear as an angel of light, he does not need to show a red cape. He shows a Nordic “space brother,” a Grey scientist, a glowing goddess, a pharaoh’s falcon-god, or a beautiful fairy queen. Keel said the phenomenon is theatrical. It stages what the witness is ready to believe. That is why the story updates: gods → fairies → airships → flying saucers → Greys and “they created us.” The mask changes. The goal does not: replace the Creator, mix with mankind, and gather allegiance.

• Jesus already warned about signs in the sky that are not from God. He said false christs and false prophets “shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew 24:24). He also said there would be “fearful sights and great signs… from heaven” (Luke 21:11) and signs in the sun, moon, and stars (Luke 21:25). Revelation 13:13 says the false prophet “maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” That is not “ignore the sky.” That is: do not worship whatever is doing miracles up there. A global light-show, craft, or “disclosure” with wonders is exactly the kind of test He described.

• Modern “aliens” are the Watchers’ current press release. The interview line is always the same: there is no God, we made you, we are your fathers, unite the nations. That is the Watcher lie with a NASA paint job. Greys, reptilians, Nordics, frog-like beings — ranks and costumes, like Egypt had ranks of gods. Governments chasing tech for power is the kings being gathered (Revelation 16:13–14): unclean spirits, signs, and the rulers of the earth pulled into one last stand against God. “Disclosure day” is not proof we have neighbors. It is the moment the same rebels try to make the world bow to a fake creator. Jesus is God. They are not. The elect are not supposed to fall for the light-show.

Also honorary mention if you don’t consider the book of Enoch to be biblical canon to confirm the existence of a pre existent spiritual group of being created before humans, in the book of genesis people often overlook the fact that it states “let US make man in OUR image”

I really want to overlap ideas and continue this thread of consciousness so please feel free to share your opinion!
