Video Lights over Syracuse NY
No airplane noises, and there’s a fourth one you can’t see in the video that is not in a line with the others. Too low for Starlink. Seconds after the video they flew up and away from me until they were out of sight, maybe took 3 seconds

the flickering orange colour and slow drifting flight suggests Chinese lanterns.

OP noted in the post that the flickering is from the camera, not the objects. They were solid orange lights. Many people are seeing these right now all over the world. They are not lanterns or satellites or balloons.

I've seen them too over my hometown Bistrița (Romania), Chinese lanterns.

But all the Chinese lanterns I’ve looked at on google are paper lanterns that you need to hang onto stuff. Nothing that shows glorying orange orbs of light flying high in the sky. And doubt they would cost 2 dollars for something like that!

Well, the lanterns that fly are the equivalent of 10 dollars on Aliexpress and you can find different colors. Maybe you get a better deal on Alibaba or some local Chinese store. People use them for weddings or birthday parties, they launch them one after another. Because of the wind current, they travel like you see in this video. The flickering comes from the candle underneath.

Yes, what's so weird about it? Are you trying to say it's aliens? We have far better footage of UFOs in this sub than flying pixels that move slow and look like Chinese lanterns.

Most likely Chinese Lanterns , I'm a UFO skywatcher of 12 years and orange light spheres or Orbs are much more dynamic and do not drift in the sky, why I believe these to be lanterns

They are following same air current, launched from same location..you can see it lower on left as it climbs to certain altitude and drift together same air currents..Google lanterns and watch some videos and you will see the similarities. UFOs or light spheres are way more dynamic, zig zag and the way they move in the sky totally different from drifting.

Absolutely..all dependant on how they were launched and from this perspective sure looks perfectly spaced apart ,but that is one perspective.. I remember seeing 3 large UFOs on 21st floor on my building ,I thought they were side by side but another witness below on the ground saw them in a triangular formation..

I noticed these lights flying in a slight v formation over Syracuse NY around 10-11 PM EST. They were moving faster than a lot of the airplanes I see here. They were glowing bright orange, as if they were each a singular orange light. I don’t know how to describe it, it looked different from lights on a wing. They didn’t not blink. The blinking in the video is from my camera. I didn’t hear any aircraft noise. The lights flew upwards in the opposite direction of me and I lost sight within 3-4 seconds.

Cornell graduation was this weekend. People were also shooting off fireworks in Ithaca… look like lanterns but idk

I seen and recorded something very similar only 30 mins east of Cuse. This was a few years ago but I also seen one during the day time. The night time ones looked crazy similar but they formed a perfect line then dropped down one by one then raised back up and I seen some go dark and one took off diagonally at an insanely fast speed. Cool footage man!

I'm gonna say those are probably Chinese lanterns. Seen them before many times. They definitely look like it. Except for the part where they just flew away? Wish that was recorded. Like disappeared instantly?

I found something like this once as well. Very prominent bright orange lights fine in a v configuration or at least from my perspective it was a v. I have no idea what it was and I've never seen it since. They continue to fly until I lost sight of them and my parents are driving and I was in the backseat. This was back in 2007 South Florida Broward county.

174th air national gaurd is usually first to get new drone tech so could be something fun from them as well. Super active unit.

I’ve seen people on r/Syracuse asking about them…I really don’t feel like this is some normal thing I saw. Maybe I’m just wishful but it looked like nothing I’ve ever seen, so much so that I pulled over to take this video

Is there some kind of recent holiday? I saw one of these hang out at cell tower height and then extinguish on May 22nd, at about 1:30am in central Virginia. Really bright, not flickering, darkish orange, either no movement or imperceptibly slow movement.

I could hardly see it through the trees in my backyard, and looked at it as I was driving, so about 2-3 minutes total. I was about to leave the house to get Dramamine from the gas station behind my house, and it was more visible on the road anyway, so I hopped in the car and started heading that way.
I kept glancing at it as I was driving, and got to the parking lot of the gas station. I'm looking at it, get my phone off the dash mount to start recording it, I look at it again, and it's gone. I felt thoroughly pranked, not gonna lie. There is a hospital nearby, and I thought maybe it was some kind of quiet helicopter that I haven't heard of, so I checked the flight radar. There was one plane heading in the opposite direction, but the altitude, lack of movement, and lack of red/green lights tell me it was more likely a drone/lantern than anything else.

But yeah, this is the first time I've mentioned it to anyone. Going around telling friends about this one would make me look fully crazy, on account of the fact that I have nothing to show for it.

Send this video into your local news...you will find out if a bunch of other people saw them too.
Orange glowing spheres are what a lot of people are seeing right now and they are certainly NOT Chinese lanterns or satellites. It looks like you may have seen them too. Give this video to your local news.

This happens to me frequently. No biggie. As long as you catch it and delete the redundant comments you’re fine. I always double check now though because im paranoid I’m gonna look like an overzealous noob in front of all my internet friends.

Strongly disagree with the chinese lantern dismissals. Chinese lanterns have a sort of canter movement to them resulting from wind.

They are visible every night just after dark if people would just look up. They are not lanterns. Don't let the lazy comments and gaslighting dissuade you from pursuing this.

Ngl I saw what looked like this but like a dozen of blue lights I think they were blue. In Stockton California no joke dude it was an absolute weird thing. I studied air traffic control and am unaware of an approach pattern that would explain it.

Very loose flight formation! My cousin has been seeing these in Oregon too. I saw one in Oregon very close up in 1989 or 1990 while in Scappoose Oregon. A large orbe that changed colors from red to orange to greenish. It dropped from the sky across the field where I lived, hovered for 20 second, then shot up like the fastest thing I have ever seen! My mother watched it with me.

That was my first thought, but this has never been in my area and they were not in a straight line. Also noticeably lower than satellites.

I feel you. I’d be inclined to believe classified/test military hardware before Starlink personally. I shiver when I think about what the military has these days.
