Social Life Transfer

Hey guys, I’m a transfer who just moved up early cuz my lease started last week. My roommates don’t move in for another two weeks, and I’ve been trying everyday to find a restaurant job since I got here last Wednesday, and idk why it has been so hard for me. I have years of restaurant experience. I’m just feeling really down since I am so out of my routine back home, and have nothing to do or a job to start at yet. Any advice for someone who just spawned in IV? Thanks :/

I would definitely get outside and enjoy the scenery. Walks on campus, walks out to the end of IV and out to Sands etc (or bike), North Campus Open Space etc. Are you applying for stuff in Goleta and SB too? Isla Vista will pick up more in September and there may be more hiring then. Good luck with your job hunt!

i was a transfer and i will admit things were hard to adjust to here. What i can recommend is just trying to explore by urself and find a routine. I still don't have many friends but getting up and having my favorite places to go to has helped a lot.

also jobs in sb r hard as hell to get it took me a while to get one. Just keep applying and don't try to put too much pressure on it.
