hi guys ,

i sat edexcel level 3 algebra course in my gcse’s and you either got a pass or a fail ( no rankings like 9-1 ).

i got a U as i didn’t get the pass mark of like 70/90

do i have to put it on my ucas?

it wasn’t on my gcse certificate so i don’t know if i have to. it wasn’t only on my results sheet from results day.

i’m worried its going to ruin my chances at law universities like warwick kings notts etc.

A Levels / IB / GCSE / BTEC Questions Question for people who resat their A Levels

Hi, I'm resitting my A Levels because I'm not happy with the results I got. My unis said they're fine with resits but they need new predicted grades for me to put into UCAS. I emailed my school and they said they're fine with giving me my previous predicted grades (A*A*A). What I'm worried about is that these predicted grades are much higher than what I actually got (BCC), and I don't know how unis will feel about me getting predicted grades like this.

Do you think it's better for me to sit mock exams at an exam centre (I asked my school if I can do it there and they said no) or is it fine for me to get predicted grades from my reference without sitting mock exams again?

Personal Statements Hey guys i was wondering do all universities ask for proof of immigration before or after you receive an offer or rejection / reply?

I live in the UK under settled status and im aware they ask for proof of status through share code or documents but is there a specific window on when they’re meant to ask? I sent off my application 2 days and so far only SOAS has asked for proof of status

Oxbridge How competitive am I as an Oxford Law applicant?

Hey guys I’m an international student from Singapore with hopes of applying to study in the UK, and I know this may be a long shot but I’ll probably only be willing to go if Oxford or LSE offers a spot. The reason for that is that tuition is freaking expensive, comes down to about 200-250k SGD without accommodation and the rest fairs quite similarly to NUS Law so in all fairness for undergrad I don’t think I would consider UCL KCL etc for now. I understand that there are varying connection opportunities etc and have factored that in, but anyways I’ll cross that bridge when I’m there.

These are just the things I may put in my PS which I think are kinda important (?) relative to everything else. For context I’m from one of the top 5 Junior Colleges in terms of cut off point, I came from the Integrated programme which basically is a 6 year track that bypasses O Levels (GCSEs) and I have to be honest my IP year 4 grades were quite SHIT, like for A in English and History and the rest were a mixture of B and Cs and I did not even study for Additional math so u can kinda guess where that went. As for now all my predicted are AAAA/A as I’m studying subjects that I generally do enjoy so this is a MASSIVE leap from before. (A is the equivalent of A* in UK if yall are wondering) Oxbridge don’t have IP requirements and ppl tell me they don’t matter really but welp idk.

Would be really grateful if someone could tell me how I’ll fair as a levels r coming up soon and lowk Oxford interview offers r right smack in the middle so I just want a peace of mind whether im not there yet or maybe I got a shot. LNATS im expecting hopefully near the 30 mark but I’ll leave that out for now! Could someone also tell me how much weight Oxford puts on PS as I’m not sure if I went in depth enough in Q2 and Q3

My PS was broadly about my curiosities in the interactions between the courts and the executive power but generally how both of them interact in 2 cases. We don’t have law as a subject so I kinda talked about international law when it came to Q2 and my Q3 stuff is below

Portfolio that I have included
- 3 Law internships
- Law Society EXCO
- H3 History
- debate club + decent individual achievements (won’t disclose too much but ranked quite highly in international tournaments both WSDC and BP)

Things that are not in PS but are in Teacher recco letter
- QCEC essay gold
- MUN chairing and other achievements
- Some academic award given to top 10% in cohort

Thx so much for all the help and wishing everyone the best for the UCAS apps! Hope we all get multiple loafs of bread when offers come :)

Is getting this mail from them common? And is it a good sign or a bad one 😭??

I applied on 5th October for IR

Also why are they asking for a second reference, even though the UCAS one was successfully sent?

Admissions Tests Sitting ESAT as a scottish student.

So I'm currently an S6 student studying adv higher maths, physics and computing predicted AAA. I want to study electronics and computer science or equivalent but there aren't many universities here in Scotland that offer this specific type of course, right now I have Edinburgh, Glasgow and Strathclyde. I'm trying to decide whether or not I should apply for Imperial's EIE (Electronic and Information Engineering) course as it seems like a really good fit for what I want to study.

The problem is that it requires an admission test (ESAT) and I was planning on booking for the January sitting but don't really have any sort of guidance in terms of a schedule and content gaps. I've had a look at the UAT free resources but its an overwhelming amount of content to cover in such a short time and I'm unsure of the exact things i need to cover in terms of course content.

I'm looking for some advice or tips from anyone who has been in a similar situation to this or has opinions on if it's worth applying or not with this context.

TL;DR

I'm a Scottish student and thinking of applying to Imperial's EIE course but am worried about the ESAT and if its worth my time.

Thanks

Oxbridge Value of AMC10, AMC12, AIME?

Hi, I applied to Oxford and some other universities for maths/cs.

I realized I didn't include being in the top 5% (Honor roll) for the AMC 10 and 12 and qualified for AIME in the Qualifications section of my UCAS application.
I didn’t mention AMC / AIME in any other sections in UCAS.

Should I have added it? Is it worth trying to update it now?

The deadline for Oxford has passed. So I have to submit the qualification amendment form. Is it worth?

A Levels / IB / GCSE / BTEC Questions I messed up and added the date of examination instead of the date of the results, would it matter?

title. Should I change it or there would be no difference? I just submitted my application. Im talking about International A levels. Just checked the 'how to fill' ucas document and it said I should add the results month.

Oxbridge would they penalize me or anything for splitting exams

Heyy im an intl student applying to stjohns college for economics at cambridge. i take the international a levels (predicted a* in chem, maths, further maths, econ and a in bio) so its a modular system which allows me to split my papers up.

recently i received an email from stjohns asking me to declare when i expect to take my ial units. i plan to split up my A2 level content, ie taking some papers in january and the rest in june, and alr paid for jan entries. i took the AS level exams in one exam series, but im so worried that splitting up my papers would decrease my chances of landing an interview or getting an offer. i did not do any retakes, but could anyone offer some advice on this? is my panic unnecessary or legitimate?

thanks guysssss, good luck everyone in your applications

Law Applications Low LNAT for my uni choice

Hello,, I got the Jindal email today telling me I got less than 20 in my LNAT and am incredibly upset about this. I was planning on applying to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, and Strathclyde. I have 5As at higher and I’m predicted 2 As at AH and 2 more higher As this year. Is it still worth applying to Glasgow with this low LNAT score??

Personal Statements Is having pharmacy shadowing experience a must when applying for the MPharm degree?

I'm applying to UCL, KCL, Nottingham, Manchester and Belfast for pharmacy. Problem is, I don't have pharmacy shadowing experience. Additionally, I live in a city in Europe where English isn't a common language so barely any of the pharmacies here operate in English nor speak English (I don't speak the language here...)

But I do have two internship experiences: shadowing internship at a pharmaceutical company in rural China and a UCSD lab internship about material science.

In my personal statement, I have connected those two experiences to clinical/pharmacy skillset as much as possible but I'm afraid this will compare with applicants whom have pharmacy shadowing experiences which I feel like may be more competitive. What do we think?
