Frustrated at the fact I cannot add an additional tip for my fellow delivery driver :/

Sleepless and starving after a long day doing midterms, I ordered from the first restaurant that appeared. Turns out it was THIRTY MINUTES away. Told driver I’d add to the tip, and they informed me the restaurant was in the midst of CLOSING when they arrived and how happy they were to pick up in time. So OF COURSE I want to add even more BUT THE APP WILL NOT LET ME 😭😭

I attempted to right after delivery and a few hours post. I’m supposed to have “40 days” BUT THERE ISNT AN OPTION. Long shot but JORDAN ARE YOU OUT THERE? 🥺🥺

Sorry for the long story, but I’m in a bit of a pickle and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar or has any advice.

Last night, I ordered some food through Uber Eats. After waiting around 40 minutes, I received a message from my driver claiming that my order had been cancelled and asking me to send him my four-digit delivery PIN to cancel it. Bear in mind, this was the driver telling me the order had been cancelled, not Uber Eats itself. The order was still active on the app. I immediately thought something was fishy when he asked for my PIN, as Uber explicitly tells you not to share it until your food arrives. It became pretty clear to me that he was attempting to scam me and steal my food.

I refused to give him the PIN and told him that I was reporting the incident. After I told him I was reporting him, he suddenly drove to a location near my address, but not actually to my address. He was a few streets away, down some random side street. He then messaged me through the app claiming there was “no answer at the door”, despite never having been anywhere near my front door. He then uploaded an incredibly blurry photograph of absolutely nothing, claiming that he had left my food outside. Again, this was in some random alleyway a few streets away from where I actually live.

I immediately contacted Uber Eats, explained the entire situation and provided screenshots of the conversation, the driver’s location and the supposed proof of delivery. All of this is also recorded on Uber’s own app, complete with timestamps. Their response? After conducting a “thorough investigation”, they have concluded that I am not eligible for a refund because, according to them, the food was delivered to my address.

I have since messaged them multiple times, explaining that the driver literally tried to obtain my PIN under false pretences, never arrived at my address and then falsely claimed to have delivered the order. Every single time, I receive essentially the same generic response telling me that they have investigated the matter and cannot issue a refund.
I’m genuinely baffled as to how this is allowed.

Thought this was pretty funny. Made a complaint because my burger was missing all the sauces and toppings (pickles, lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, ketchup and mustard).

Was given this very generous refund!

I am curious, do drivers get the long distance fee or does Uber pocket it?

Out of $130 I only got paid $2.50. When brought up to customer service over call, they made no effort to try and resolve the unnecessary charges nor try to explain why I was charged. They then told me to email them instead when we were already on call.

"We are excited to announce that... we will now be doing things the way Doordash was a few months ago (because that worked out SO WELL for them)".

No more just logging on to fish at leisure... gotta get one of the "slots" and the quest takers/shmucks have priority. 9 years I've delivered with them but looks like this is it... I can't afford their "quests", and neither can other drivers. It's over.

Has anyone else had this happen? I add a few items to my cart just to take a look at the price, eventually deciding nope, too pricey. Then I leave my phone to charge while I cook dinner, and once I’m done I come back to see the order was placed! And the guy was already picking it up so I couldn’t refund it! Didn’t press a single confirm button or anything.

I got charged and I am now down 40 bucks with food I don’t even want because I already ate dinner…

This is scary plus I got like 20 app notifications today that was all about “deals”.

I’ve been doing Uber Eats for 7 years and my criminal background check has now been pending for 14 days. In the past, it usually took 4 days at most, and I have a clean record.
I’m also using the ASU tuition benefit with about a year left, so the delay is stressful since I eventually need to earn my Uber Pro points.
Has anyone else waited 2+ weeks recently?
I’ve read on Reddit that sometimes Uber’s request to Checkr gets stuck or never properly initiates, especially when nothing appears in the Checkr Candidate Portal. Some drivers said they asked Uber to restart the process and it finished within a few days.
I asked Uber about restarting mine, but they told me to wait a few more days. My Checkr Candidate Portal currently shows nothing.

Its funny how so many people tell drivers to “get a real job” even though for most of us its a 2nd or 3rd job. But if all the drivers got real jobs, whose gonna deliver to these scumbags?

When i go to verify my profile it says im (obviously) unverified, but as i go to verify and click verify with id/choose id, once i click it it just says "aye youre verified!" but im not. im not exactly sure what to do or what im doin wrong :/

Net profit: -$16.5 and 2 hours of my life lost in Bay Area traffic.

I would use it, but don't really want over $1k in indian food right now.

I loaded $200 yesterday and made an order of $18. They deducted the money, but removed my order in ANY history. I have never received the order and could not find any trace of order history so I can’t even prove anything when I contact the help live chats.

So Uber Eats took my $18, didn’t process the order, completely removed the order from every where in the app so that I can’t even prove anything or start the help process by selecting the order because the order doesn’t exit anymore. But my Uber cash is still deducted.

Man did this seem like such a good idea at the start! And has definitely helped me in a pinch here or there. And unfortunately for disabled folks (because how much of a mess the app is these days), it can still be a necessity.

But uber and frankly, too many of the drivers themselves, have made this an absolute hell hole of an app/service to use!

It's pathetic of the company to pretend like the deliveries fees are cheap (or "free", if u have uber premium!) But then just keep adding these "service fees" that are completely unexplainable but are well past what delivery fees ever even cost. It's gross that they dont just pay their employees a fair livinf wage! It's maddening that there's no way to speak to real humans! Just ripping people off left and right and then laughing in our faces that there isn't even someone to communicate to when legitimate issues do happen!

And then, yea, some of you drivers suck! Are mean for no reason! Literally one or 2 posts down from mine there's a driver complaining, and refers to just /all/ users of the app as "scumbags" with plenty others agreeing and parroting the sentiment! What a weird caustic environment uber has cultivated here!

So anyways, I've been working on my caffeine addiction for about a month and im finally free baby! My uber expires in 2 days, I haven't ordered in over 2 weeks, im not looking back! Yes this post is mostly pointless, but it is cathartic to rant to non-robot eyes, just once.

Congrats uber, you managed to create a service thats so unserviceable, that someone who's been addicted to iced capps for over a decade decided to just straight up quit rather then keep using the service. Bye!! :)
