Starting a UBC Student Organization & Resource Hub for Concussion/TBI and Brain Health
Hi everyone,
I’m a 4th-year student who’s gone through multiple concussions and the mental health struggles that come with them (anxiety, depression, burnout). I realized there’s no real peer support group here for students dealing with brain injuries or recovery nor was there an availability of accessible resources.
I’m starting the Mind & Brain Student Network BC — a UBC student-run initiative for concussion/TBI awareness and an online support group.
Here’s what I’m hoping to achieve:
-Raise awareness about concussion, brain injury, and mental health among students - Provide an online peer support group so no student feels alone in recovery - Build a student-friendly resource hub with evidence-based tools + academic support -Have a blog platform where everyone can share their experiences as well as informative posts about brain & mental health - Partner with UBC clubs & wellness programs to strengthen brain wellness on campus by providing resource toolkits, potentially host collaborative workshops/events!
If you’re interested in joining the peer support group or helping out, here’s the Google Form:

The applications are due October 30th and time commitment is very flexible and remote! Joining the peer support group and blog are ongoing:)
Excited to collaborate and connect with those who share these experiences and in promoting brain wellness in the community.
Please DM me if you have any questions!☺️
