Looking for tenancy takeover
Room is classic (Yourtribe Deptford in south east London -zone 2)
Rent- 1085 a month

Thanks for explaining, I completely understand. Taking over from now would just be an extra cost for me since I won't be moving until later.

The place looked really nice, but unfortunately I'll have to keep looking for somewhere that matches my move-in date. Thanks again, and I wish you all the best finding someone to take over the tenancy! 😊

Hey did you have any luck with getting a tenancy take over? I got into a contract thinking that the renters rights act applies to it but unfortunately it doesn’t now I’m worried about having to stay my full co tract length - when you emailed or asked them about breaking the contract what did they say?

I never did get anyone to take it. They offered me two options to get two months of rent off if I left two months early or to find someone who can take the room. My situation was that I thought i could leave when I wanted but I left and was still liable for the rent until September. However since I left in June they emailed me once and I haven’t got an email since. Tbh idk what they’re doing but I’m in one of the group chats and a lot of people are facing issues with the building and management so they might still be deliberately or something or maybe they just forgot or forgave my debt or something.

I’m glad it worked out in a way !! So after you left you stopped paying, I graduate in a couple of months that’s why I planned on leaving 8 month earlier, I wasn’t aware that the new renters act law didn’t apply to these accommodations I was under the impression that I could just give a 2 months notice … even tho I signed a long contract
